Anyone really believe the QB competition is still that wide open? Not sure what to think myself.

I don't see how you can assemble a running offense with a four man rotation. Most schools are already prepping for game one with QB1 and we are still in the same place we were in the spring.

I'm heavily leaning towards Milroe is the QB but they feel like they need the #2 to be ready to step in and play because of the style of offense (running the QB more often) and that is still wide open.

I think Milroe and Simpson had the opportunity to grab it last Saturday and didn’t. Not saying they were bad, just that nobody separated

Barring injury, I think Milroe is going to start against MTSU, and I don't think anyone really thinks any differently.

Even if Milroe plays lights out the first few series, I imagine we see Simpson/Buchner (no idea who will come in first) for at least a series before halftime. I don't think Lonergan will get any meaningful time with the 1s against MTSU.

I think all QBs will play - most people do. The concern seems to be - will the starting QB against Texas have enough snaps under his belt and plays shared between the WRs be sufficient for timing, etc. I know that is a massive run-on sentence, but you guys are smart

I don't think you can judge anything based on Saturday. After reading a lot of reviews from people who were there, it seems like most are forming their opinions as if we ran our offense vs defense in an actual game.

We ran a very specific offense that is, from what I have read, not the offense we are going to run in the season. I don't believe there were any plays designed to run the ball with the QB. I know we had some, but i don't think they were called. Which is Milroe's towering strength, and also a strength for Simpson and Buchner. I don't think that part of the game is a concern for the coaching staff. I have understood that Reese was brought in to get us to an RPO attack that is run heavy. That could be wrong but that is what I have read.

Also, I'm pretty confident the defense wasn't exactly surprised by what they were up against. I think this scrimmage was planned toward ,"if we can't rely on the run game, how will we perform?" Basically just put them in a tough situation and see what happens.

If Orr is right, I'm really impressed with Lonergan. I don't think he will get the spot, but to be pushing for first team reps as a true freshman this late in fall camp is a huge surprise.

It definitely seems like they think he's the future. How soon that future arrives, I think, depends on if one of the other guys can play steady, mistake-free football fairly consistently.

Sorry to jump off topic but Georgia lost Branson Robinson, one of their running backs, for the season with a knee injury. Sucks for him individually but we all know how injuries are the one thing that no one can predict.

Milroe has only taken snaps with the 1’s throughout spring and fall camps and every scrimmage. He’s not taken any snaps with the 2’s if memory serves me right

Milroe starts and probably will play to the end of the 3rd against mtsu unless it’s a blow out early. Milroe needs the game time minutes to get ready for the donghorns

Feel bad for that kid for sure but not for Georgia. That definitely hurts them. He was the number 1 running back in 2022 class.

Just saw that Eli Gold will only be calling home games. Chris Stewart will call the away games.

Yep. Big loss for them. Hopefully Alabama can stay relatively healthy this season.

I think that is the kid that is super jack with like a 500 lb bench press.
ETA: Just read article on him and mentions they have had a number of backs injured and one coming off injury that will need to play more now.

I believe that is the kid from Mississippi that had a chance of coming to Bama. I think someone on the board knows him.and/or his family.

Georgia is beat up at running back. Daijun Edwards has a sprained MCL in addition.

feel bad for the individual kid. georgia as a team deserves every injury they can get after the way 2021 went down

I got invited to practice Saturday . I wasn’t going to go but I’ve decided too because this QB shite is bothering me.
