What I’m describing isn’t fear, it’s reality. If you want to deceive yourselves be my guest, but Alabama’s defense is no longer near the same level that it was when Freeze was coaching at Ole Miss.

Auburn’s potential to recruit with NIL, combined with Freeze’s O scheme has a greater potential to dominate against the Alabama product currently being put on the field than the other coaches mentioned in Auburn’s search.

Freeze doesn’t scare me, the only coaches in the SEC that scare me are Pete and BoB.

Is this even possible anymore?

Never forget that earlier this year, Auburn tried to fire Harsin over fabricated off the field issues which included having an affair…..only to turn around an hire Hugh Freeze.

Excellent point

Auburn is a shite program whose entire existence is based on competing with the university of Alabama.

Malzahn was damn near neck and neck with Saban. Freeze at the barn is going to be a fricking nightmare - especially if this current coaching staff is retained. Goddamn Harsin was an arse hair away from beating us last year. All they need is a semi-okay coach and they look like the Patriots against us. I hope like hell this is just smoke.

Liberty got blasted by New Mexico State today, 49-14.

Let him go to Auburn.

AU beat writers indicating that this could actually happen. It so wild that AU will do it but it’s so on brand for them. They’re literally the only school that would consider and hire the guy.

You do realize that the last 3 games in Tuscaloosa we have won by a total of 82 points? They will play us close in the pasture but won't go on any streaks because they struggle terribly on the road.

Please. They will 100% try to act like he is completely reformed and not the abhorrent pile of human garbage we all know he actually is.

LOL wut

Malzahn went 3-5 against Saban and was blown out in every road game. I think it became clear after Harsin nearly beat us last year (plus Chizik in 2009) the reason for those 3 wins was much more Jordan Hare than some super duper Gus magic. We absolutely smoked his arse in Tuscaloosa.

Liberty just finished a season losing to 6-6 UConn, 3-8 Virginia Tech and 5-6 New Mexico State (by 35). Last year they lost to ULL by 28 and Army by 15. They basically have 2 wins against programs with more money/players than them the last 2 seasons - Arkansas (without their QB healthy) and BYU. They have beaten teams that they have significant financial advantages over (USM, UAB, Akron, Old Dominion, UMass, Troy, MTSU) and lost to others (ULM, ULL, Army, UConn, NMSU).

Freeze at Auburn is totally fine. He will be just like Gus was - win 7-9 games a year. The unique offensive stuff he did 10 years ago is no longer unique.

Freeze was a good coach at Ole Miss. He got them off the mat and had them playing physical football. They weren’t scared of us at all.

That said, take away those two wins against us and the hype for him goes down significantly to the point where I don’t even think Liberty hires him. Plus, it’s clear how he got all of talent to Ole Miss. Freeze at Auburn will be a punchline. The amount of blowback they’re about to get will be off the charts when this should’ve been a unifying hire.

That said, we live in a world of NIL and the transfer portal. Freeze and AU have shown that morals are out the door and I fully expect them to go all out to get their talent built back up.

Still though. It’s such a perfect fit but I can’t believe they actually went through with it. The PC and subsequent “Those who are without sin…” BS will be hilarious to watch.

Not neck and neck but he was more successful than any other coach. By far. Of course Chizik got one of those wins.

We put everyone else away for about a 10/12 year stretch.

Right. Those jokes about Freeze don't mean shite to most players especially if Auburn is going to sock it to their pockets. I fully expect Auburn and Freeze to have immediate success recruiting high school kids and in the portal.

I know Pearl had his issues, but hiring Freeze is a whole another level of slime.
