Earlier this week, backup right tackle Wilkin Formby was asked during a Crimson Tide Sports Network interview what he hopes fans will see in Saturday's game.

"I think that most importantly, we're just gonna show -- I feel bad for Mizzou," Formby said. "Because we've come off a loss, and we're very focused on us. It's all about us. We're focused on just keep winning. It's the next game. We're focused on the next game at hand. Just being able to dominate our opponent, and more so focus on us and what we have to do."

quote:

Formby told CTSN that Alabama has a "great player-led team" and leaders are stepping up to "keep us all together" after the loss to Tennessee.

quote:

"We're not pointing fingers at each other, and we're kind of just taking this on as a team," Formby said.

Somehow this makes me feel worse about this team.

There’s no need to say this crap. Speak with your play rather than your mouth.

Just what you need, the kid who almost single-handedly caused a loss to USF to be giving an opponent bulletin board material.

Saban was right to not let anyone talk to the media besides him and a select few players who have been coached up on media interactions.

It really speaks to the quality of the current program that a backup lineman who almost singlehandedly cost us a game against fricking USF is developing enough that he can now provide bulletin board material for our next opponent.

That should have been done after that embarrassment of a game against Vanderbilt.

Back in the day under Perkins, Curry and Stallings you could request an interview with any player on the roster. The difference was that they all had received at least some direction on dealing with the media and most of them had the good sense anyway not to have diarrhea of the mouth.

At least he improved on the seven straight run plays against UT.

They felt bad for South Carolina too. We saw how that went.

I agree, I am not confident in our chances to get a W tomorrow.

Wasn’t Fomby the same guy who said Vandy was like an FCS team?

Yeah definitely not what I wanted to read about.

If you're actually focusing on yourself why even bring up Mizzou?

Reminds me of the 2022 team. They would also talk this mess. "Now we're focused and going to reestablish the dominant Alabama standard." *lose again* "Okay, now we're REALLY focused."

Imagine how bad they'll feel for Mercer if they go into that game at 5-4. Man, Mercer will be so screwed!

This group, can’t call them a team, needs to keep their mouths shut and let their play do the speaking.
