I would imagine the older fans say Tennessee and the younger fans say Auburn. What say you? I hate Tennessee

For me, the long winning steak against UT took them out of really being rivalry material. Auburn at least kept it interesting, especially at Auburn.

Hate them both but Auburn on a different level growing up in Southeast AL. If UT and AU are playing I pull for the Vols all day.

For me, it's Auburn. We've had far more heartbreaking losses to AU, and far more exciting wins against AU, than we've had over UT in my lifetime...

Not to mention, Iron Bowl games earned far more monikers than TSOR games: Punt Bama Punt, Bo Over the Top, The Fumble, One for the Thumb, The Camback, and The Kick-6 (losses) and The Run in the Mud, 315, Wrong-Way Bo, The Kick, The Drive, Crimson Crane, Gravedigger/4th & 31 (wins) to name a few...

Whereas Tennessee, I remember a lot of good games, but I can only recall a couple that deemed a name; I remember The Kick II in Stallings first year (1990)...and Rocky Block (2009)...but can't recall any others that got tagged...

Auburn, easily. Tennessee is basically irrelevant now and in my 19 years of actually watching (at 11 y/o), I've seen Tennessee beat us exactly twice. I'm 30 now

It's interesting, though, my reactions to losing to Auburn and losing to Tennessee. Tennessee was just anger (2021 is probably the angriest I've ever been after a loss), but losing to Auburn has produced humiliation, sadness, and at times genuine despair (mostly 2010).

I tend to laugh off the other losses, for comparison

Auburn by a mile. I have to work and live with them. If their fans didn't believe they were better people just because they were associated with the school, they wouldn't be too bad. Every time we lose to them they have to bring it up in every conversation, make bumper stickers, send out Christmas cards with the score. They only live to beat Bama and that is it.

I told an Auburn Fan who is a good friend that until
Auburn stops having as their only goal to beat Alabama they
will always be a second level team. I hate Auburn and Tennessee equally, followed by Georgia. Phat Phil is
a scum bag who I would not piss on if he was on fire.

The cutoff seems to be about 40 years old. Fans 40 and older seem to hate UT more. Fans under 40 seem to hate the Barn more. Makes sense based on recent history.

barn rivalry was much better when the Iron Bowl still existed with a 50/50 ticket split at Legion Field.

boogs destroyed that.

10rc took it in the shorts so many yrs under Saban.

I'm 50 something and I hate Auburn way more.
In fact, UT is #3 on my list, behind Auburn and LSU (inlaws went to LSU)

I was talking to my brother about this when UT and Auburn were playing in basketball this season. I told him that you can really tell who you hate more when they're playing each other. I was pulling hard for Tennessee, despite Bama hoops needing them to lose.

Anyone who says UT must live in the state of Tennessee or something. It will always be Auburn.

Auburn and it's not even close. Saban killed whatever rivalry there was with Tennessee.

For me, it's Auburn. I'm 71 and was a student and in the stands for "Punt, Bama, Punt." That scarred me for life. LOL.

This take is so bad but I see it repeated so many times. Neutral site games suck, Legion Field sucked, Birmingham sucks. The only good thing about that arrangement was it kept Alabama from having to go to Auburn.

To the OP, I think the Iron Bowl is clearly the most intense rivalry (not just for Alabama, but in sports). I personally hate Tennessee more because I grew up in Tennessee. I think that's the biggest determinant on this question.
