All LTs look alike. Except Lee Ziemba, pretty sure he was the only ginger Lt ever. Positive.

I've got some quotes and stuff coming from a National 247 writer.

Interesting quote from CJ Hampton:

quote:

Another pitch being used by Alabama is the thought of pairing up Hampton with 247Composite safety Laurence Jones (Monroe, La./Neville), which Hampton is very receptive to. When asked to make a Crystal Ball prediction of his own on Thursday, Hampton projected Jones to select Alabama, stating the commitment of friend and No. 1 overall prospect Cameron Robinson (Monroe, La./West Monroe) to Alabama as a significant influence on his recruitment. Hampton is aware of Jones pushing his decision back several times, stating the pull from the home state as a factor, but conceded that there was something special for him at Alabama. If that holds true, Hampton feels his own decision would be made that much more difficult.

quote:

One aspect of Hampton’s recruitment he has not made too much mention of before is the influence his mother will have on his decision. He admitted openly on Thursday that his mother would have the final say on his choice, saying that she means so much to him that whatever she says pretty much goes. Hampton says his mom has both Hugh Freeze and Nick Saban on her cell phone and speaks to them frequently.

Marlon Humphrey news:

quote:

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey (Birmingham, Ala./Hoover) has long been considered a stone-cold lock to sign with Alabama, where his father Bobby Humphrey broke records as a running back in the late eighties. His father now works at Bryant Bank, which was launched by the son of legendary Crimson Tide head coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The ties to the program, coupled with him being a priority target based on the need at cornerback at Alabama, give the Tide plenty of reasons to be favored.

quote:

Those close to the family admit that while his father is allowing Marlon to go through the recruiting process freely, in the end, they feel it will be difficult to see him allowing the five-star cornerback to go anywhere but Alabama, especially after Marlon’s older brother Maudrecus did not fare too well away at Arkansas.

Should quell some of this FSU talk.

quote:

Crimson Tide assistant coach Billy Napier was in the area to see future Alabama receiver Derek Kief when he stopped in down the road to see the nation’s top-ranked 2015 outside linebacker Justin Hilliard at Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier as well.

Napier obviously liked what he saw and left behind an offer.

“Justin is pretty stoked about everything,” St. Xavier head coach Steve Specht said. “He smiled. I think he’s excited. Any time you get the defending, defending National Champions, the No. 1 ranked team in the country offering you, you feel good about it. With that being said, Justin keeps it all in perspective.”

Any truth to the rumor that Marlon is dating a track athlete from FSU?

Hampton is only an hour away from Tuscaloosa. If he wants to make momma happy, then his choice is easy. A quick drive on 20 is a helluva lot quicker than driving to Oxford.

Stolen from the Auburn recruiting thread:

quote:

Rivals says we'd (Auburn) have an above average shot of signing Casher,Evans, Dion Hamilton, and Roberts if signing day were today.

quote:

-Win over TAMU has Bama commits Roberts and SDH excited about Auburn and the future on The Plains.

Roberts would be no surprise, but I thought SDH was solid to us

They can both sign with Auburn. Neither of them will ever start for bama.

SDH is probably our most solid commitment. Roberts appears to be getting more solid with recent visits to Ttown, not less solid.

I think either their posters or Rivals analysts are getting a bit carried away after their 1st big win in a while.

I agree SDH is solid and I like him as a prospect at ILB

Roberts is still up in the air to me but his recent visits did help

Will be interesting to see how well the recruiting weekend goes
