If it were up to Hootie today it would be Bama. Wants moms approval. Will take an official to both in the next two weeks
Hampton is a FS. Will be back this week, and will take an official for the LSU game
Hand will take his official this week
Elam was impressed with ND, but still a Bama/UK battle. Will visit both two more times before NSD
Bama leads for Darron Payne and is expected to sign him by the Shades Valley staff. Mario has done a great job recruiting him.
We made the top 5 for St Louis OT Brian Wallace. Will visit after the season. Is a take.
LoCarter is expected for the LSU game. FSU is surging and he might visit for the FSU-Miami game

A few days after their Georgia loss I started a thread on the TR. At that point in the season Alabama had looked pretty bad at times too but I figured the West would still come down to LSU vs Alabama. So I pointed out both teams' weaknesses and asked which team had a better chance or easier job of correcting their faults and entering Nov 9th a complete team.
I GOT shite ON. Five pages of calling me a troll, guys just derailing the thread and all around childish shite. I figured it was worth debating with them. Apparently not, frick the posters over there.

I knew it wasn't over...seems like LSU is scratching & clawing now after they lost traction with him.
On one hand:
The announcement was on the same day as a playoff game
Other hand:
His OV to LSU is for the Furman game
Seems like LSU staff now isn't happy with setting that OV date & after discussing with his Mom, has pushed the date back. LSU is gonna try to get him to switch his OV for the aTm game, or already has switched it that is the word on Geaux247 from S&S
looks like a battle of insiders 
I think he will try to convince his Mom that Bama is the place for him on his OV, we will see who wins out...still like Bama's chances but it is far from over

TIFWIW, but Shea Dixon is saying that academics will play a major part in convincing Hootie's mom. He thinks based on his sources that she sees the football aspect of both schools (Alabama & LSU) to be pretty much even, so she wants to see which university sets him up best academically.
Also, Shea did admit straight up that Alabama had pulled in front, but that its anyone's game due to Hootie's Mom still being on the fence... She seems to be more comfortable with LSU, so its on Alabama to convince her (and keep Hootie's attention) on the LSU visit.

IMO CJ Hampton is more of a need than Jones, even though I'd love to land Hootie. We've done a decent job in recruiting strong safeties, whereas we've been lacking at the free. Getting Hootie on top of Clark would be lagniappe, excuse my French.

Also, one thing Trey forgot to mention in his cliff notes of today's Nuggets is that sources FEEL that Hampton is a heavy lean to Bama, even though he is currently an Ole Miss commit.

Oh I agree, getting a stronger foothold in Louisiana is more important than landing a kid from Mississippi, but in regards to our needs, Hampton is more important. Especially when you factor in that our only FS in this class, Williams, has serious grade issues.
