It seems more and more like Recruiting is just high class trolling. But Rivals rankings seem a little out there to me. How can you say of our commits we have 7 ranked between 40-100 and not a single one in the Top 40 without saying they are trolling for hits from Bama fans?

We have more in the Rivals 100 than any other team so I don't think too many Bama fans will be complaining. Plus it's pretty consistent with 247 and 247 composite. Our top commitment in each of those is #39

It just seems like every year it gets worse that more and more guys are ranked to fit a narrative. The narrative involves way to much camp production (specifically at each websites affiliated camps) and less emphasis is actually put on the pillars that recruiting used to be about - potential and high school production. Case in point the Allen/Cornwell situation.

Good post LA71. Games are not played at camps or 7 on 7 etc. Game production should be paramount, then physique and offers. Camps should only validate measurables like Ht,Wt,Speed et al. Too many grades are being changed based on camps alone. Prospects not attending camps keep getting pushed down or are slow to rise.

Someone from the LSU 247 site posted this. It appears Marlon wants to play with Malachi Dupre in college. Didn't someone say he was at the top of our WR board?

That's all I have read is that Dupre is our #1 WR. So it would be nice if we could snag him.

Even though I can't post over there I still browse the Auburn board from time to time. I found this post in their recruiting thread:

quote:

Here you go. The 1313th player in entire United States of America is now on our radar. Brandon Roberts I can find no highlights of his, and his hudl is private. (I just keep telling myself The coaches know what they're doing, they know what they're doing ...)

Their board is actually pretty hilarious. They don't pull any punches when it comes to bashing their own program. They seem to have a much better sense of humor than most Auburn fans I know IRL.

Looks like another epic troll by Marlon. He clearly either reads Message Boards or has a close friend or two that provide frequent updates. Dupre's response to me says they have never even talked about playing together, LOL!!!

Just to entertain his twitter message, if they wanna play together it'll be at Bama but anyone who follows MH on Twitter knows his M.O. Is stirring everything he can up. That being said Bama is still very actively recruiting Dupre

Bucc,

Dupre goes to John Curtis. J.T. Curtis and Saban have a very, very close relationship from his days at LSU and Curtis has a history of sending top talent out of state. It would not shock me at all if Dupre comes to Tuscaloosa.

this is true, but they also have a history of sending them to LSU....that being said, it would shock me either
