But I pointed out a couple of weeks ago that there is no way he could have put up the JUCO numbers he really is as bad of a shooter as he has shown this year.

You wouldn't think. And seeing him shoot 3s that high in juco surprises me. But looking at his shooting form, I definitely understand why he shoots such a low percentage. It's clunky and he looks like a caveman.

Which is something I can live with, since he plays great D and hustles. Though I'd love to see his juco shot chart. No clue how he scored so much in juco.

If our five is making shots, yes. Bruner is the only five we have that has shown any consistency shooting the three and he's at 32% for the season.

ALABAMA BASKETBALL - FEBRUARY

Record: 5-2 (5-2)

T-Rank
Overall : #33 (#5 SEC)
Offense : #142 (#10 SEC)
Defense : #12 (#4 SEC)

This feels accurate. February was rough, even though it was our best in ages. Thank God the schedule we played in January was in January. Otherwise February might've looked familiar to Bama basketball fans.

Rojas need to go back to the high top fade. Looks way cooler than what he has now imo.

Not enough, imo. He needs to go full Kid N Play with it.

The SEC with a grand total of 2 ranked teams in March.

When was the last time the SEC was this bad?

KenPom Conference Rank - SEC
2021 - 3rd
2020 - 6th
2019 - 4th
2018 - 4th
2017 - 5th
2016 - 6th
2015 - 5th
2014 - 6th
2013 - 7th
2012 - 4th
2011 - 7th
2010 - 5th
2009 - 6th
2008 - 6th
2007 - 2nd

This is the best the SEC has been since 2007.

But please, continue. I'm sure there is something bad or negative you can bring up next.

I've got Bama losing to State on Saturday

quote:

The 7 or 10 seed Bama would play in the 2nd round as a 2 seed would be a decent nonconference team. Bama has lost to every decent nonconference team they have played this year. The Sweet 16 might be a bit much for this team based on their nonconference record. Bama won't be beating up on weak SEC

quote:

Don't count the State game a win yet. Bama hasn't played well on the road in over a month

quote:

1st decent team Bama plays in the tournament will put them out. 5-4 nonconference record speaks for itself. The SEC being trash is the only reason for the good record

quote:

re: Predict SEC Teams in the NCAA Tournament and what their seed is

Bama- 5
Tennessee- 5
Florida- 8
Arkansas- 9

(This one was on February 7th)

quote:

It's pretty obvious now the only reason Bama is winning is that the SEC is very WEAK this year.

Bama can kiss a 2 or 3 seed goodbye, likely a 4 or 5 seed now.

Bama's nonconference record is too bad and the SEC too weak to get anything above a 4 seed.

If you can't find any bit of joy in this season then I'm not really sure what the hell the point of paying attention to basketball is.

He's probably not going to respond. His usual style is to post some negative bullshite that is not only unsupported by the facts, but is in fact directly contradicted by the facts, and then disappear while everyone responds to him calling him out on his bullshite. It's as if he's a troll or something.

When was the last time the SEC Tournament had 0 teams in it that were on the bubble?

Because this year everyone there will either (a) be in the NCAA Tournament or (b) need win the SEC Tournament to get in.

I can't ever remember it like that.

I seriously doubt that it has happened since the field was expanded to 64 and the concept of "bubble team" became a thing.

Went back to 2000 and can't find anything like it, there was a couple of years that it was sort of close but still not like this.

I went in and looked at the SEC NCAA Births since 2012 expansion and looked at Total Births, Top 9 Seeds, Top 5 Seeds - than stratified to try and get an all around ranking of how that season "went" in terms of the conference getting tournament bids. I got the following (using the current bracket matrix for 2020 & 2021).

(Total Bids) (Top 9 Seeds) (Top 5 Seeds)

T1. 2019 (7, 6, 5)
T1. 2018 (8, 8, 3)
3. 2021 (6, 6, 3)
4. 2017 (5, 5, 2)
T5. 2020 (4, 4, 2)
T5. 2012 (4, 4, 2)
7. 2015 (5, 3, 2)
8. 2016 (3, 2, 2)
T9. 2014 (3, 2, 1)
T9. 2013 (3, 2, 1)

But yea, the SEC is definitely the worst ever this year guys! ERMYGERD!

If you remember watching SEC basketball during these years and you think this season is bad I just don't know what else to say. You could take it back further to like 2009 and it'd be just as bad. The SEC was absolutely putrid outside of the top 3-4 teams any given year for the better part of a decade.

Yea it's hard to come to any conclusion other than a troll or someone who is 14 years old with no historical knowledge of basketball in the conference.

As you noted, that list doesn't even include the old SEC East/West splits where 4/6 of the West would have an RPI of 125+.

That may be true, but they still aren't going to just leave any of our guys open on the 3pt line to camp out in the lane. And those 250+ lb guys are going to have a very difficult time with our offensive pace.

I agree, we'll struggle to defend those guys, but it goes both ways.
