I haven't really understood the negative comments in this thread towards the B1G. It's easily the best conference in basketball this season, though it is maybe a bit top heavy

No one is attempting to dispute that the B1G is a good conference. However, once B1G teams make it into conference play it's literally just a race to 7 conference wins and nothing else matters. For example, Minnesota is currently 13-12 with a 6-12 conference record, including recent losses to Nebraska and Northwestern. According to Lunardi they're still only the first team out of the field though, and if they win 1 or 2 more games they're probably going to end up making the cut. Indiana is among the last 4 in at 12-12 with a 7-10 conference record. My issue with the way the B1G gets treated has to do with the circular logic applied to them.

"These aren't bad teams despite their terrible records because look at who they have to play."

And then take that logic and apply it to the top of the league and you get:

"These losses don't matter because Michigan State and Indiana are actually good teams."

It's all circular, and the end result is that losses do no matter at all in B1G conference play. Not one bit.

Im not a picky person. All I want is for LSU, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Mississippi State on our side of the SEC Bracket as the 4, 5, 8, and 9 seeds. Is that really asking too much?

Bracket would look like this, I think

Not bad, not bad at all. I want nothing to do with Kentucky in that 1st game. They are playing much better basketball right now. Sign me up for Missouri or State.

I don't like having to play the winner of Mizzou and State in our first game, but if we get past that we have an obvious path to the championship game. Tennessee is pretty much done and I don't think Florida is good enough to beat us.

I'd prefer either of them to the Feb 1 on version of Kentucky. Missouri has completely hit the kids and State can't score.

Really any version of Kentucky. We beat them in the conference tournament like once every generation.

Correct - combine the actual Kentucky team playing right now with the giant ghosts that will be riding on their shoulders and no frickin thanks.

Baylor had 8 players get covid during their recent pause. We saw how long it took Quinerly and Rojas to get back to normal after they had it. Baylor may not be the same team they were again this season.

Alright I'm going on record boys. Tuesday night we get out of the shooting funk. The stars are aligning.

- Won SEC Title, monkey off our backs, pressure gone
- Home game
- One of the worst defenses in the country

Auburn defensive numbers in February
- Defensive Efficiency (#14 SEC, #175 Overall)
- eFG% (#13 SEC, #262 Overall)
- 3PT Defense % (#14 SEC, #313 Overall)

For the revenge tour, give me Missouri > Florida > Arkansas.

For what is best for NET, give me Missouri > Tennessee > Arkansas.

For the easiest (but still realistic) path, give me State > Florida > LSU/Ole Miss.

When, if ever, have we beaten UK three times in a season? That would be pretty cool as well if we play them in the final. Would be tough though, because at that point UK would know it is literally win or go home.

I think anyone is going to be for getting UK on the other side of the bracket.

Kentucky is almost universally better the later in the year it gets due to their recruiting model. This year is no different in that regard, even though they started out so poor. They are better now than the 2 times we beat them.

They are 3-2 in their last 5, and the 2 losses were one possession games against Arkansas (2nd) and Florida (3rd).

Yep - efficiency wise they were a borderline Top 25 team for the entire month of February.

Kentucky - February
#27 Overall (#3 SEC)
#32 Offense (#2 SEC)
#55 Defense (#7 SEC)

They were the best 3PT shooting team in the league for the month of February. Go figure.

Their biggest issue still exists, though, and that is the fact that they don't know how to win close games. But, I'd prefer not to put that to the test if I can play State instead.

If Cooper doesn't play they're going to have a really bad time. The wheels have completely come off for Sweaty Bruce and the boys. Based on what us and South Carolina got and how bad Auburn is this year it wouldn't surprise me at all if their preemptive postseason self-ban was actually a gambit to avoid probation without costing themselves any kind of postseason accolades.

For as "bad" (really more like average/above average) as we've played for the last month, if we can finish off the regular season with wins over 2 of the bottom tier teams in the SEC.....we'll end the regular season winning 6 of 7 games with our only loss to a Top 15 team on the road.

They did just pick up a win against Tennessee without Cooper, so I wouldn't expect them to come in and roll-over.

Since 2007-2008 (13 seasons) we've won 12 road games that would qualify as "Quad 1" wins

4 of those 12 wins have been this season
