Y'all just be patient and let Oats and Murphy work. Alex Wilkins has also not committed to UK either despite a ridiculous offer.

Cole Cloer hasn't committed yet. Might be told to wait to commit so we have a string of commitments in one day.

If we end up with Freeman and Wilkins, this portal class goes from a little underwhelming to one of the best classes in the country. Still a little bit of a question at the five spot but between Collins, Garrison, and JDF I'm fairly confident that two of them can hold their own and do the dirty work we need from them for 40 minutes.

Just looked at Wilkins a bit. I can see why the staff likes him. He plays a lot like Philon.

I don’t know what chance we have at getting both of them, but I know there’s nothing as entertaining as seeing the BIG BLUE BONEHEADS lose their collective minds about Pope not being able to close!!!! If Nate gets em both they might chase Pope out of the state IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!! They are thrashing WildcatHoopsHQ on X because he predicted Freeman to commit to UK and then said he was setting up a Bama visit a couple of hours later

Much like Cloer, we were a finalist in the recruitment of Freeman as well.

Hell, let's toss in Jasper Johnson, and that's 3 transfers we were runners up the first time.

We've been runners up in a stupid number of elite prospects out of HS.

It’s because we lead for these guys and then last minute other teams outbid us and take them. I don’t think people realize if we were in the pre NIL days Oats would be recruiting at Calipari levels.

We’ll find a team just off the “yeah I chased the bag but should’ve followed my gut” transfer guys lol

Which I’m good with honestly. If they want to go get a bunch of money as freshmen and then come here a year or 2 later more developed I’m cool with that.

What I THINK is happening in a lot of these instances though is this: Out of high school Oats and Murphy are telling kids “We can give you say…200k in rev share. But we also are the most followed athletics department on all of social media and the biggest brand in college sports. We are the pro team of our state. So you CAN make up to a million and we’ll develop you and you’ll play fun and winning basketball”

Then some other school comes in and says “we’ll give you a million guaranteed that our billionaire booster made from sex trafficking”.

Then the kid gets to that school and that “guaranteed” money still ends up being them doing random NiL things or it being a struggle to collect

What's the deal w/ Cloer? I'm trying to look these guys up but can't find anything from him at NC State. Did he redshirt?

I think so too. Personally I find it really unusual that there have only been a handful of instances where a school even attempted to enforce those contracts and only the one (Reshada?) I'm aware of where a player tried to enforce them against an individual booster or a collective. Makes me think a lot of these kids are signing NFL style contracts, albeit valid and legally enforceable ones, where the face value and what you're actually going to end up earning are two very different numbers, but no one in their "camp" has the brains to recognize it for what it is. Then with all the go-betweens, i.e. agents, parents, handlers, collective representatives, booster reps (Mark Cuban isn't personally negotiating with Snakerell for example), coaches, etc. who all have something to lose you're going to be wading into a quagmire trying to allege fraud. Just like the Reshada kid.

No, he's a class of 2026 guy who early enrolled at NC State a few months ago before Wade left. I would just consider him part of the freshman class with Samuels, Bouie, and Richardson. I'm really high on Cloer; I think he and Samuels are going to play big minutes.

It’s down to us vs Kentucky for Donnie Freeman.

This is the big time 3 we’ve been missing since Brandon left.

Kid can shoot the lights out. He will definitely play. Don’t know about start but he can definitely be some scoring off the bench.

I’m super high on all our freshman.

Do we have a known visit date for Wilkins or Freeman? Are either of them still on campus at Kentucky?

I think he will play the 4 most of the time. We have like 4 guys who can play the 3.

But imagine a line up of

1. Allen
2. Freeman
3. Jemison
4. Bristow
5. Garrison

Talk about positional size.

I am greedy and want a big 7 footer who can fight the Mara's of the world though.

Assuming Allen, Jemison, and Holloway are all back, adding Garrison, Davis-Fleming, Cloer, Wilkins, and Freeman + some high ceiling freshmen would be nice on paper. I too would like us to bring in some 7'1" rim protector though.
