Latu was a stud recruit. Hope he finally makes an impact. With our dearth of OLB experience coming back it'll be interesting if Latu stays at TE or if they switch him back to LB.

We will have 8 OLBs (4 deep) -- C Allen, J Parks, Mwikuta, K Harris, Braswell, Sanders, Anderson and Robinson. Not a lot of experience, but a lot of talent. And all of the new guys except Q-Rob are early enrollees. It appears to me that Latu is needed more at TE. And he has been practicing at TE instead of OLB. Considering all of that, it seems to me he should have a better chance of playing and starting at TE. So, I don't think he's likely to be switching back.

Is it confirmed Sanders is going to play OLB? He plays ILB in most of his film. Robinson and Braswell look like our jack and sam for this year. Kennedy and Bratton ILB for sure but I know out of the 5 Sanders looks like he could play either.

I think Sanders flipped from Oklahoma because he wanted to play defense and not tight end. We'll see though. He's an awesome athlete. Reminds me of Taysom Hill that plays for the Saints.

JMO but Latu is a roster filler and that is about it. Nick moved and backup OL to TE to get some help and a freshmen has to steup up with the injury to #87. It's not like #88 is elite either so with the fact Latu can't get on the field doesn't speak well of his ability.

I don't think Latu had ever played tight end before last season. He was a defensive player in high school. It's so insane how people chalk up a player as a bust after one season as a position player.

Latu played TE and WR for Olympus too.

I know he started out at Jack linebacker in 2018 so the transition back to tight end may have been steep. This season will be telling. Hopefully he and Billingsley form a solid duo.

For anyone concerned about Brandon Frazier's level of competition, please note the Division 2 National Championship Game was played on Brandon's home field in McKinney, Texas.

That's a huge program with college level facilities.

Plus, he's 6 foot 7 and weighs 250 pounds already. He could easily add 15 pounds to his frame.

Kid's a beast and his younger brother might be a 4-star DL, too.

We as fans are quick to do that to players if they do not play right away after a position switch. Same things were said about Trevon Diggs after he made the full time switch to corner. Latu will be fine, I don’t know if he will ever be a big time player but pushing him to the side after one year at te is not what we should do.

I don't get those who make light of the TE position.

Don't think they realize we were missing a TE as an option against LSU and it made things slightly harder in Tua.

Also don't think they realize without OJ Howard making those plays with that speed we don't beat Clemson the first time.

Just weird how people mock certain positions or losses on the recruiting trail when the reality is it is significant and I'm sure Saban understands this.

Anyways the Frazier kid while not as athletic as Washington, seems pretty good himself. He can block, has great size and knows how to use his body when receiving.

Definite important pickup. We need to close this one.

I think people are sleeping on Billingsley. He has talent and got thrown into some tough situations when Forristall got injured.

Exactly!! Billingsley has a chance to be an elite player. I think some of us are really overlooking him.

Yeah he looked good on that one reception hopefully he develops.

In a perfect world we sign Washington and Frazier and terrorize teams with our size in the redzone.

Anyways, we will see what happens.

This guy said Latu is a roster filler. We don't go to Utah for roster fillers!

I fall in the category of people who think we make to much of the highly rated pass catching mismatch tight end.

It is great weapon to have but I don’t feel it is essential to have or you should worry if you don’t land a 4 or 5 star tight end.

Thaddeus Moss (3 star) if I’m not mistaking is by far the best tight end in the playoff this year and he has 30 some odd catches and 1 TD.

I’m not saying I don’t want a 5 star TE or they don’t make things easier but a lot of your prominent TE in college end up being 3 stars like Irv or people who changed position. Look at the top of college or guys like Kittles, Kelsey, etc. TE is really more about coaching and evaluation IMO.

They sure bit hard on Cooper Bateman and his bluff coming out of Utah.

Power played into not having to come throw for his spot...
