I'm not saying that I don't think he could coach here, I just don't think he wants to do that. He's a different guy, he has a family situation with a child that has a disease, etc. I've just always gotten the impression that he doesn't want to be at a football crazed place in a small college town.

I could be wrong on that, but that is just always the image I've gotten from reading about him.

Your probably thinking of the 15 Georgia game. A 34-10 Bama win.

yep, you are correct.

Chris Peterson is a west coast guy. I don't think he would fit well in the SEC culture. Alabama would need a man who is familiar with how things are here in this region. Washington and Boise State are polar opposite of Tuscaloosa.

Dabo has done incredible things at Clemson but they have no competition in the ACC. Jimbo Fisher is a terrific coach but A&M is the fourth best team in the division right now. It would be interesting to see how Dabo would fare in the SEC West.

They're recruiting well, but they haven't really built anything to this point.

If their last 2 post-season games are any indication where UGA got blown out of the building, they're far far from elite.

"Building something" means actually having something to show for it.
Lots of schools have recruited well.

I get your anger, but we are talking about the te position here. It’s a position that we find ways to manufacture it by putting different players in that spot... It’s not like it’s mlb, we will be okay.

Jase McClellan

Alabama running back signee Jase McClellan – the player who flipped from Oklahoma to the Crimson Tide on Early Signing Day last week – led his team to Texas state high school title today.

McClellan tallied 25 carries for 218 yards and two touchdowns to lead Aledo (Texas) to a 45-42 victory over Fort Bend Marshall. His touchdown runs covered 63 and 17 yards, both in the second half.

With the victory, Aledo won a second straight state title and became the first school in Texas history to win nine state championships.

McClellan was limited to eight games this season, according to stats posted on MaxPreps, but he finished with more than 1,200 yards and 28 touchdowns while averaging 7.5 yards per carry.

5-star Alabama signee finishes as Texas state runner-up

5-star Alabama signee Drew Sanders and his Denton Ryan teammates fell short in the Texas 5A Division I championship game in a 28-22 loss Friday night to Alvin Shadow Creek. Sanders – in his final game in a Ryan uniform – did a little bit of everything.

Sanders ran eight times for 25 yards and scored on a 2-yard run in the second half, caught six passes for 48 yards and completed his one pass for 2 yards. He also punted once for 36 yards. On defense, Sanders tallied 3½ tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss. He’s projected to play linebacker in college.

25 carries and I'm sure many were on a bum ankle. Kid is tough. Can't wait for him to get to Tuscaloosa

On other boards, is there any talk about us looking harder at Dee Beckwith?

He has some impressive film and I would like to prevent him going to Tennessee or Ole Miss.

McClellan reminds me of TJ Yeldon. Am I the only one that sees that resemblance? Great vision and more power than meets the eye.

Also aren't we returning all our current tight ends?

Yep. Depth Distribution (link from 1st post)

I expect Billingsley to break out next season at H/flex TE and hopefully Cameron Latu at in-line TE. We'll see.

Latu was a stud recruit. Hope he finally makes an impact. With our dearth of OLB experience coming back it'll be interesting if Latu stays at TE or if they switch him back to LB.

He looked really good with the ball in his hands. He's not scared of contact
