I know a lot of fans really grew to love Milroe this season. The team rallied around him, and there were some good moments, no doubt.
But..
A team isn’t going to win in this day and age when the QB can’t pass.
We aren’t going to win the SeC championship, then beat 3-4 great teams in the playoffs next season with Milroe. I wish they would have stuck with Ty, those type QBs win.
I hope Milroe doesn’t start next season. He’ll have more fantastic moments vs Arkansas, Miss. state, and Vanderbilt, but we’ll lose this exact same way in the playoffs next season too.
McCarthy had 221 yds and 3 TDs. Give Ty a whole season. Or Julian Sayin.

Milroe by all accounts is a great kid, an incredible athlete, and had some amazing moments as our QB this year. BUT, this offense will not be able to be as efficient as it should be unless he makes tremendous strides in learning to read defenses and making better decisions with the football next year. There does need to be a wide open QB competition next year, but I’m doubtful that Simpson stays and equally as doubtful that Saban will start a true freshman even if he is better. Not sure what to think right now about our situation at QB.

As much as I hate BOB, he seems to be correct in his evaluation of Milroe.

Doubled up McElroys numbers. That's gotta mean something.

Why aren’t they saying that?
And why would they being saying it if we went 9-3 with Ty?
And is choosing 9-3 a better option than rolling the dice in the playoff this season?

Unless Milroe gets injured, he will be the starter next season. We just have to hope he improves.

Because now we're stuck with a fake quarterback and a guy who hasn't played, just like 5 months ago.

This game falls on our OC. You’re going to blame a quarterback that got sacked 6 times? I admit Milroe didn’t play a great game, but why keep doing the same thing over and over if it’s not working? He made some adjustments in the 4th quarter, but it shouldn’t take 3 quarters for a million dollar a year OC to figure it out. We basically abandoned the running game in the first half. And a zone read up the middle after 2 timeouts? Really?

I get we are a national champion organization, but we won the SEC with him.
I think we could have easily won a Natty with him if we had better coaching/strategy, a player who is willing to buy into his strengths and a functional, normal center. I will say part of his limited numbers were also taking a whole half to make adjustments oline/schemewise.
I don't get the feeling of worry I get whenever Milroe puts the ball in the air, he has improved his accuracy. However his inability to read defenses, set protections or anticipate throws admittedly is a tone to have to work around. With that being said we were basically a ball security/open field running play away from playing for the Natty.
Regardless of who you want at QB, we have to get a normal center. No one is going to be able to successful at the level we want of that doesn't change. How we won 11 games where 10% or more of our snaps are just bad is beyond me.

Milroe will never be Pennix...but he will definitely be better next year

I hate that I agree with this post but its true. Unless he gets significantly better at the mental aspect of the passing game, we're going to be right back in this situation next year.
We were fortunate that Kirby ran a very stupid defensive plan against us. But think about why he ran it? Two spies - because he knows if you keep Milroe in the pocket you can beat him. The problem is that two spies isn't the way to accomplish that goal.

Also won’t win with a center that can’t snap a ball…

I love him as a person. just a good dude. He is not a starting sec qb though.

Exactly. Y’all seem to forget we had Sark and Kiffin to build elite QBs. Milroe has a nobody Notre Dame has-been to develop him.

We somehow got worse with 4 weeks to prepare. Highly concerning.
