Wonder if Joc fell through or the rumor was unsubstantiated. Guess he could still be in play too.

There were a report that the Braves and Marlins we're making "substantial" offers to Soler. I read on a Marlins sight they didn't expect to get Soler if the Braves really wanted him and would likely just do what they can to run up the price. Wonder if they decided that Eddie was the better deal or if that was just Soler's agent getting stuff out in the press.

Hopefully there’s still room to add a veteran starting pitcher

While we are scoring eight runs per game we'd be good running Gene Garber out there every now and then.

IT'S LIKE TED TURNER AND John Schuerholz ARE BACK IN CHARGE !!!! LETS GO !!!!!!!!!!

No, his woman beating bitch arse is ready to go and cleared to play this year. Unfortunately the club could not unload his sorry arse... oh well, hopefully he hits 50 HR's to diminish the black eye he has given the team.

That is a phenomenal batting lineup for opening day. Lots of power. No easy outs. Stressful for an opposing pitcher.
Excited AA re-signed "Dodger killer" Rosario.

Does signing Eddie effectively close the door on Soler and Pederson or is there a chance we could still find room for one?

Jim Bowden??
@JimBowdenGM
Multiple executives believe that Freddie Freeman and his representatives may have over played their hand…so it will be interesting to see his final contract. #Rays #Dodgers #Padres #RedSox

Sounds like the Jays are out now after their pitcher heavy trade for Chapman. A's are cleaning house.

The Dodgers are the only team with a firm offer on the table, it's for like $120 million over 4 years, and everyone else mentioned is his agent doing damage control IMO. Dude could have played his whole career in one place, got greedy, and is going to lose a lot of money because of it. And it's all so unnecessary too. He already fricking cashed in with a 9 figure deal. Like, it sucks that his time in Atlanta is over, but I feel zero sympathy for him whatsoever.

Braves Country

I don’t even know where to begin. For the past 15 years I got to be apart of your organization. It was truly an honor. We went through the very highs together and some lows but those lows is what made last year so special. You watched me grow up from a baby faced kid to marrying my love @chelseafreeman5 and seeing us bring 3 beautiful boys into this world. I’m so glad my family got to be apart of yours! To Snit, my coaches, teammates, training staff, clubhouse staff, and everyone who made Turner Field and Truist Park so special for my family and I over the years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has been a blast to have you cheer for me and I hope I was able to bring smiles to a lot of your homes over the years. I gave everything I had day in and day out and I hope you guys saw that as well. Although our time has come to an end, I look forward to seeing and playing in front of you all again. When that time comes, I hope you remember all the wonderful memories we made together. I love you Braves Country! Champions Forever!

Love,

Freddie, Chelsea, Charlie, Brandon, Maximus

I feel for Freeman because his agent probably poorly advocated for his entire interests beyond just compensation. The agent probably felt Atlanta was offering the hometown discount or whatever and found out that was just market rate. Now he’s having to try to change chicken shite into chicken salad after promising Freeman there was MUCH more money out there for him.

You hate to see it, but more than that you love to see it.

He's losing money by the day.

Toronto is out, NY is out, Boston is out, Tampa is out, the Braves have their man, and LA has put a lowball offer on the table and the only chance Freeman has to do better is if the Padres want to make a better offer to keep him out of LA.

He'll be lucky to get a deal worth 140mil now.

It's looking like FF is going to lose millions due to pure greed. Honestly thank goodness. We got a much better deal on Olson for more years, and I truly believe he will outperform FF moving forward. This is a win win.

If he goes to the padres for less than the Braves offered he will never get the pie off his face

Definitely won’t be the opening day lineup for opening day with Acuna out but hopefully in the thick of the season that lineup is going to be somewhat slump-proof.
