Dude….Bobby was terrible in game. Snit is basically his twin.

They win because they are culture/team morale guys who the players love/respect but both were just absolute shite when it comes to in game decisions

There is no excuse for having Vaughn Grissom making the last out while your All-Star SS is sitting on his arse in the dugout because you pinch run for him and he wasn't hurt. Also, pinch-hitting for Michael Harris was as dumb as anything else in that situation. Would've been nice to have d'Arnaud in the 9th if you were gonna pinch run for Arcia which was unforgivably stupid.

Also, enough with the fricking analytics. Rosario is the clutchest motherfricker on the team and you have him riding the pine almost the entire series? His clutch bat is why the Braves signed him to a longer deal. Pillar gets 100 at-bats all year but all the at-bats in the playoffs?? fricking stupid.

Too many sliders from Strider, et al. All of Philly's hits came on off-speed pitches, except the 2nd Homer Castellanos hit in Game 4. The Phillies, the only team in this series with an actual manager, game planned and sat on the breaking stuff. The Braves, in an attempt to work Philly's pitching staff I guess, hit from behind all night because they wouldn't be aggressive on the 1st pitch. How many 1st pitch strikes did Braves hitters take this series? 50? 60?

Bringing in Iglesias in the 8th to get a rookie out. What a fricking dumb decision this was. Let's say the Braves had taken the lead in the 9th. Now you've got Iglesias on the bench, on a cool night when he could've been staying warm in the bullpen. Why would you want your closer cold off the bench in the event of a long inning? Especially when Minter could have dispatched the Phillies' rookie CF who hasn't hit his weight this season/post season. Just another fricking ridiculously dumb decision that unfortunately didn't matter, but could have really bitten them.

The schedule sucks. Balls. Hard.
Baseball has really gone out of its way to create parity. I don't mind parity if it happens organically. The top 3 teams with the best records losing in their 1st playoff series after a layoff isn't organic. It is MLB handicapping the best teams so that they can create parity. Also, none of the wildcard series were competitive which means there are too many fricking playoff teams. I didn't mind the play-in game for the wildcard teams back when only 5 teams per league made the playoffs. It was fine. But to ask a team that has won all year to take a week off and then play again is fricking criminal.

Snitker somehow both under and over managed a team in one series.

I have a bigger problem with the extra days off they built into the playoff schedule than the layoff. I mean one of the biggest advantages of getting a bye in baseball should be that you get to go into the series with a set rotation and rested bullpen instead of having to cobble something together for the first 2-3 games. There probably shouldn't be a day off in between game 3 of the WC and game 1 of the DS and there definitely shouldn't be a day off between game 1 and 2 of the DS.

Agreed. With another day off between games 1 and 2 in the LDS, Philly just got more rest for their bullpen, and the Braves had to wait, AGAIN, to get back on the field. 1 game in 7 days at the end of a season is murder.

Could you give us 5 examples of Cox’s in-game post-season incompetence? (Other than bringing in Wohlers for a 2 inning save vs Yankees in 1996 game 4.) Thanks

1) Game 1 Starter World Series- Charlie Leibrandt.
2) Pulling John Smoltz in Game 7.
3) Allowing Sid Bream to bat in Game 7 with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 8th when he hadn't been hitting shite all series. Bream with sore knees promptly batted into a 3-2-3 double play. Long fly ball wins the world series because Minnesota didn't score until the 10th in a scoreless game.
4) Glavine was rattled that the Braves didn't score in a promising inning in Game 2 in the 7th. He never should've been allowed to pitch the 8th. A scrub parked his first pitch in the 8th in a tie ball game. Braves lose 3-2.
5) Game 3. Peña, the Braves closer hadn't pitched in a week. Cox brought him in in the 8th with a runner on. Chili Davis parked a 2-run Homer that nearly cost the Braves game 3. Braves rallied and won it in the 12th inning.
Peña was the closer. Not the set up guy. As a closer, he as 13 for 13 for the Braves until Cox put him in the 8th and not the 9th. He'd only pitched the 9th inning.

Now that was 5 in one World Series. Did you want me to keep going??

Wish i could give you more than 1 upvote.

Refused to play Deion Sanders while he was the hottest bat on planet.

Let Leibrandt get nuked coming out of pen - he was totally out of his element.

Liebrandt lost Game 6 in the '92 series too. Last out of the season made by Otis Nixon in the World Series trying to bunt with 2 outs in extra innings with the tying run on base. Jesus.

Bill Pecota flying out in Game 5 of the '93 NLCS with the winning run on 3rd with 2 outs? Series tied 2-2. Bill fricking Pecota???

Outscoring Philly 33-23 and still losing in 6 games in the '93 NLCS.

OK. I'm done. My heart hurts.

Always felt Cox overmanaged come playoff time.

1991 game 7 Lonnie Smith baserunning gaffe off Terry Pendleton's double still hurts.
Would have easily scored.
Had to stop at 3rd base.
Never scored.
Braves probably win if not for that miscue.
It was Jack Morris/John Smoltz pitching duel.
Braves would lose in 10 innings.

2023 Braves are a HUGE disappointment.
Setting offensive records, 104 wins, win division by 14 games. Only to dissappear in the postseason.
Terrible in game manager decisions, offensive choke job.
