This was an absurd induction. Pearson was good, but never great. This was a guy that averaged 50 yd/game and 5 Td/season. There was a lot of contemporaries he overlapped with at WR during his era (mid 70's-mid 80's) that were pretty clearly better then him

I hated him back when he caught the pass to beat the vikings in the nfc championship game. But, well deserved.

He was the only offensive player from the 1970s all-decade team to not be in if I remember correctly

Jerry Jones had zero to do with Drew Pearson's pro football career. But, he can't miss any chance to steal someone else's thunder.

Well, let's see... Pearson played for the Cowboys. He will be inducted into the Hall with a star on his helmet. Jerry Jones owns the Cowboys franchise. Both Roger Staubach and Jones are members of the Hall. Pearson and Staubach are close and Staubach wanted to be present when the gorilla president of the Hall gave Pearson the news. The Hall has a recent custom of "surprising" inductees with the news that they've been selected by showing up at their homes. And since we're dealing with the China virus, not a lot of people are randomly dropping by personal homes with guests and a camera crew. So... "Drew Pearson said Jerry Jones and Roger Staubach helped set up Pearson for this moment by requesting him for a business meeting at The Star. A few minutes into the meeting, there was a knock on the door." But yeah, Jones was really out of line here trying to "steal" Pearson's moment. So fricking stupid...

Total good dude as well. If you ever get a chance to meet him in person, he will give you the Super Bowl Champion ring off his finger for you to get a picture with him. Cheers to him!

I wasn’t lucky enough to see any of his 489 receptions or 49 career touchdowns. He did, in fact, break 1,000 yards receiving twice.

14 game seasons and offenses were not what they are today. Also cornerbacks could mug receivers back then. Lynn Swan had less than 400 career catches and he has been in for years.

The greatest thing Lynn swann ever did was cry in the media, saying a raiders player should be arrested for bitch slapping him.
