Have any of you used MPC - mobile passport control? It’s a government app where you put your information when returning. Supposedly people have used it faster than Global Entry.

This, plus it's usually not much of a premium.
We have those on all of the routes except for Milan to Varenna and vice versa, we are booked 1st class, but it doesn't give you an option to pick a seat since its a regional train.

If you want dive bar, The Brick LINK is tough to beat.
The bar at the Lowes is really good. Drum Room isn't far and is good bar at the Hilton. Lula's is actually pretty good southern food. Buffalo Pizza is good. For music, The Truman, Midland theater, Uptown theater, The Crossroads, etc based on bookings.
The crossroads area has some good breweries and there is Mean Mule Distillery that is great as well.
If you have transportation I recommend going out to Rieger Distillery, great bar, even has a speakeasy. It is also next to Knuckleheads which is one of the best musical venues/ dives in the city, always has music going on.

Final Italy Itinerary help

Here is our itinerary so far....we will be taking trains to get around. My only real concern is getting from Varenna to Milan on way to Venice, I have tickets booked but worried about crowding, but we leave early in the morning.
Day one - arrive in Milan at 11:20 AM
Day 2-3 - Milan, Have the Duomo rooftop tour at 10 AM, have Last Supper tour at 5PM
Day 3-6 - Arrive in Varenna, stay there for three days, nothing booked. Debating renting a boat one day.
Day 6-8 - Venice, have nothing booked but will most likely do Doge palace etc. Staying near the train station.
Day 8-15 - Florence. Staying near Ponte Vecchio in an Airbnb. Have Uffizi booked day 9 first tour in morning, have David scheduled
day 10 first entry in morning.
Day 15 - Back to Milan for flight out the next day, staying the night at the airport.. Debating stopping in Bologna for the day if we can
find somewhere to store bags.
Day 16 - Flight back
We want to use Florence as our base for day trips etc. We were in Rome last year after a cruise, so won't be going there. Any suggestions on anything else to make sure I book? Anything you suggest we see that I haven't covered. We really want to explore while we are there this time. Wife, me and 12 yr old daughter.
Thanks

We will arrive on afternoon of June 7. Leave the 9th for Florence. Other the Doge Palace is there anything we need to get tickets to see? They are having a huge boat regalia that Sunday so will try to see that. We are staying in an Airbnb near train station.

Saw him play Hal and Mals in Jackson Ms once in late 90s. He threatened to beat a dudes arse if he didn’t quit leaning on the stage. Good times!
