TBF, Nascar crapped on the people that got them popular (go woke, go broke mentality) and doesn't really have a major name right now for people to get behind.
Then next thing you know Nascar will try racing electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles? the crashes would be spectacular and lethal to the driver and anyone in his perimeter. Probably won't happen, because visions of crispy critters
who used to be drivers is not likely to sell cars to most people.

I'm not a NASCAR fan, but they went woke a few years ago, so I hope they implode.

NASCAR went full woke and drove off their fans. The Francis family deserves this.

I went to two races the last two years because I happened to be nearby those weekends. Got tix on Stub Hub for nothing. There is no reason to attend in person. Even with cheap tickets, the price of parking and concessions was high, given the experience. The time commitment to attend a race, particularly leaving the track, was ridiculous - even when the stands were 40% full. And both races went to an artificial overtime because of some seemingly minor track incident with a few laps to go. If you are interested in racing, you are far better off skipping watching until maybe the last 5-10 laps when anything of meaning might happen. Saves you time and money.

I watched or listened to every race back in 2004-05. Then most until junior retired. They need to get back to their roots.

Don't feel an ounce of pity for Nascar. Go woke go broke.

I don't blame them. Who wants to watch a Ford Taurus drive around in a circle for 4 hours?

That's why Miami/Homestead Speedway lost the NASCAR Championship Series a couple of years ago, of course—no pun intended, it went to Vegas instead.

It went to Phoenix. I was a long time ticket holder for the Homestead final. Lots of fun but you could see the excitement of NASCAR starting to wane over the years. Sad to see the lack of support at Richmond. Too many races and they are too long. NASCAR is in trouble.

Thanks for the correction! I had Vegas on my mind (I wonder why).

To be fair it’s kind of early there. When the race started it was beginning to get dark. It’s still very bright outside there. Not saying it got much better.

Youre right it did improve. I would say it was less than 50% though.

They started caring more about their sponsors than about the fans who brought them.
