To me, they are like my kids. I love them all equally.

This. Fla fan tells the truth. We took shreds and tied them around our heads like karate kid. Fla guy tried to chase into the student section but of course thought better and left. I seem to recall him complaining to police and they kinda shrugged it off like you deserved it kid

You recall correctly!
I was also in student section when it happened.

One other detail about that story. After the sign was snatched and was starting to get ripped to shreds by the student section, the two UF dudes who brought it over were looking at an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Officer - almost like they expected him to do something about it. He just looked at them like “What the frick do you expect me to do about this and why would I anyway? Go away.” Eventually they did.

So many fun stories from that game.

weird way of looking at it, but that's the mindset of this board, if it happened before I began paying attention to it it's of little consequence! ESPN and (over)saturation of TV sports is what got people more interested in it, because they can now watch it instead of reading about it in the newspaper a day or two later

By that logic, Yale is the greatest football program ever with 18 National Championships. Better than Bama.

definitely in the conversation, but I believe USCw has 12 NCs?

They do, but all but one of them were from 1978 or prior, when college baseball really was more of an afterthought. Their last, and only in the modern era, was 1998.

Agreed. He could have just as easily waited for the inning to be over and then gone to the third base umpire, who they weren’t arguing with, and asked for an explanation. He could’ve also said we think some of these pitches are a bit high and to ask if that is going to be the top of the zone for the whole game.

I really think had he waited between innings, he would not have been ejected. However, given his temper, it may have happened later in the game anyway.

This is stupid. Little Rock would not have won a single game at the CWS.

Perhaps, but Little Rock beat us once and almost did it again.

It's not inconsistent to completely dislike an opponent but nonetheless recognize that they are a good team.

I didn’t say Coastal wasn't good. I said Little Rock proved to be tougher. It was a compliment to LR.
Ultimately - Little Rock was much tougher than Coastal Carolina. They were well coached, disciplined and fundamentally solid.

Their coach was all class after the game. I hope they can use their performance against us to help them recruit.
When you have won 8, you start to run out of ideas. I’m OK with it.

re: Milam’s Double - no HR

While ground rules at ballparks could vary, generally speaking, if it hits the top of the yellow line and goes over - it’s a HR. If it doesn’t go over, it’s still in the field of play.

There are some ballparks where he could be correct. Depends on ground rules.

Hit the middle of the yellow line on top of fence. Didn’t go over fence. Not a HR.

I watched it again and Jones did round first towards second, so technically he could have been tagged out if Luis hadn’t yet crossed home. However, the first baseman came over towards the mound to cut off the ball, so there was nobody anywhere near Jones. Given the situation, that ball was always going home, so it wasn’t really risky on Jones part.

Yes, if he had gone toward second base and they tagged him before Luis got home, inning over. If he just ran down the line then no tag out is in play. I’d have to look again, but I don’t think Jones was running towards second base.

All the while Ben is taking it all in as a fan and slamming a Coors Light.
Scott Rolen is in the HOF at 3B.

ABs career numbers aren’t Rolen’s yet, but he could finish very close them depending on how much longer he plays.
Yep. Maybe even with NOLA - who knows.

People often forget, but Hendrickson really didn’t do anything his first three years in New Orleans and was really nothing more than a rotational/depth guy his first two.

Once the lightbulb came on, it stayed on.

I’m not saying Foskey and Hendrickson are the same, but it is possible in a new defense something clicks.

good point. Also true.
I didn’t think Penning played horribly last year, but I can understand not picking up his option and waiting to see if he can improve more before possibly re-signing.
