Senior College Football Reporter Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reports that new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin may attend the Sugar Bowl with Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry to see his former team, Ole Miss, take on Georgia.

The Sugar Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 1, kicks off at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
quote:

Don’t worry, it gets weirder.

Lane Kiffin, the former Ole Miss coach now at LSU, may attend the Sugar Bowl along with someone else: Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry. Reached on Tuesday, officials at LSU and those with Landry did not dispute that the duo is at least considering attending the game, and security plans are being made for their arrival, those with knowledge told Yahoo Sports.

Did you need more drama?

“Wait until the portal opens,” quips one Ole Miss staff member.

It’s a huge game on a huge stage in HIS state. The governor can go where he wants to represent his state in an event in his state. So just STFU about it.
If something goes wrong there, guess who EVERYBODY is going to be looking to, the GOVERNOR.

I can’t agree.

When LSU football goes wrong, no blame is placed on the state governor….that is a ridiculous statement. People assume the governor is not involved in a football team….which he should not be.

The state owns the Superdome so Landry can invite whomever he wants to the game. Especially to the state suite.

Lane and the Governor will have the buses ready to cherry pick the players wanted. Glad the portal opens about same time the game ends.

What "officials" are saying that there is tampering going on? Unnamed "sources" which means that the writer is just making it up. Staff reporter no less, can't even say who is wringing the alleged article lol

Well it’s definitely not Larry. He’s out even in town, he left Monday to go out of town. He’s attending his father’s funeral. RIP Mr. Leo

Who gives a shite that Landry likes LSU and wants to be involved. So y’all need to understand that the governor appoints the board of supervisors who oversees all things LSU. It’s been that way for decades.

Lane is playing chess while Ole Miss plays checkers. He has his staff coaching a team full of free agents after Georgia beats them.

I hadn’t thought about ole miss’ game being in the dome…with that in mind, I think it is perfectly reasonable Landry, Kiffin, or anyone else that gets a ticket to attend.

The transfer portal has made tampering allegations irrelevant.

I’ve got my fill hearing about Ole Piss. On X, here & YouTube that is all I hear . I understand they had a nice little run under Lane & LSU hasn’t been up to par since ‘19. Now they ( ole Miss) are complaining, regurgitating every stupid thing over & over ad nauseam. Yet they are still in the playoffs & it seems that’s secondary. Probably their last season to be this good for another 60 years. LSU fans & alumni need to move on to and focus on the transfer portal & the Tigers future.
