LSU took a major tumble in both national polls on Sunday after a disappointing 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky in Lexington on Saturday night.

The Tigers (4-2, 1-2 SEC), who entered the weekend ranked No. 10 in both polls, dropped 12 spots to No. 22 in the AP Top 25 and 11 spots to No. 21 in the Coaches Poll.

Meanwhile, Kentucky made a significant jump following the upset, moving to No. 15 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the Coaches Poll.

Georgia took the No. 1 spot in both polls after a 20-17 win over Alabama, while previously top-ranked Texas fell after losing to Oklahoma.

LSU returns home next Saturday to face Mississippi State in another SEC matchup at Tiger Stadium. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and No. 19 in the Coaches Poll.

Who cares….they are still over ranked unless they make major changes to strengthen the OL, better QB play, learn how to form tackle, improve Special Teams and D quits playing soft. They will have another 8-4 season and no top 25 ranking!

You can't strengthen the OL when you don't have any better talent that what is starting. Sad to say the only good players on the OL are the left tackle and center. But then everyone who follows LSU knew that already

Three home wins in a row gets them back in the top 10. One at a time! However Knoxville looms

They have every opportunity in the world to get back in that playoff contention. All they have to do is Win the big games left. The ole miss and kentucky loss is not that bad as long as they keep winning. Maybe im looking at the bright side of things.

Polls don’t mean a thing at this time. Making the playoffs is what matters.

So Oklahoma beats Texas in the State of Texas and is not ranked. That alone is proof of how bogus polls are.

The game being in TX makes no difference. It's a roughly 50/50 crowd. It's like saying UGA beating UF in Florida is a big feat.

The players are playing hard but the coaching really needs to improve. Tackling is also still a problem and injuries have forced the coaches to play guys unprepared for the SEC. Hopefully, next year will be better. The talent is there if we can somehow prevent the recurrence of the injury bug. Next man up doesn’t always work out.
