Joe Giglio and Jeff Borzello have reported that former LSU and current McNeese head coach Will Wade has reached an agreement to become the next head coach at NC State.
Wade coached at LSU from 2017-2022, compiling a 105–51 record with three trips to the NCAA Tournament, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2019.
He was fired from LSU in March 2022 and hired as McNeese State's head coach in March 2023. He has a 49-8 overall record with the Cowboys in two seasons, with back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament.
No. 12 McNeese plays No. 5 Clemson on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
