Alabama could reportedly be slipping down top prospect Arch Manning's list. According to On3 Sports, the race for the 6-foot-4, 215-pound QB is down to three teams: Alabama, Georgia and Texas, with the Crimson Tide not on top...

When talking to different sources close to this recruitment, I have started to hear more about Georgia and Texas. Alabama is still Alabama — and Nick Saban, Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding have all been involved. But there has been a little more chatter around the Bulldogs and Longhorns in recent weeks.

One source told me, the Mannings view Kirby Smart as a personable head coach. Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken and offensive quality control staffer Buster Faulkner have built a good relationship with Manning through the process. The city of Athens is viewed as a fantastic college town by Manning as well.

Athens is an awesome college town

If he picks Texas, he’ll continue the family tradition of not winning a national championship.

Yeah but they have 4 Super Bowl Rings...

It’s not like winning a NC would prevent him from winning a super bowl

We’re talking about college football here. I realize some people actually care about the NFL, but still...

If his name wasn't manning, then this wouldn't be.... "Five-Star Plus+"

Have you watched him play? If you have and still think that…you are part of a certain LSU fan base that has a problem with the Mannings. Get over it.

AL "could reportedly be slipping." That's strong language. It might just be one of the strongest statements I've read here in some time.

The manning family hates Alabama almost as much as they hate lsu.

Explains why they've produced so many successful nfl qbs...avoiding the bama qb curse.

How many UF QB’s are in the NFL right now?

The Mannings saw how Bryce "pick 6" Young shite the bed in the natty and didn't want Bill O Buttchin ruining Arch.
user avatar

Agreed. It sounds much better to send him to a school who hasn’t produced a first round QB since 2009

It's on Par with Bama in terms of making injury excuses for losing natty games...plus Sark is a better OC than Buttchin. 33-18

There are 3 Bama QB’s starting in the NFL right now and we have 3 talented guys on the current roster. We’ll be fine with or without Arch.

The Manning’s are smart enough to see a bad coach and they’ll sniff tu out fairly quickly.

Texas is where the BIG NIL $ is at! I say if it's between Texas & Georgia I'll go with Texas.

UGA has produced some quality QB's over the years, if he goes to Texas he's dumber than he looks, which could be the case here. They at least know Saban would ruin the kid, plus the Manning's hate Bammer.

UGA has produced Matt Stafford and that was Richt. UGA is not where you go to show your passing skills. I'm surprised he's even considering that place. It's Texas and he already knows it.

He is coming to LSU, ain't he? All this is smoke and mirrors. Brian Kelly knows what's up.

Definitely smoke and mirrors, he’s chasing the heisman in Southern California.

First, i think he’s way overrated. Second, theres NO WAY IN HELL the Manning family is going to be setting roots in Austin. That is a cesspool of liberal trash- like going to San Fran. He goes somewhere in Southeast.

You just described a large contingent of every large college town in America. The Mannings aren’t making this decision based on politics.

I'm so over listening about what this kid is going to choose to do for college. Pick something and shut the frick up already.

He won’t go to bama too much competition in the qb room. He’ll go somewhere that makes it clear to him he’s the star and that they’ll do anything for him and his family. Saban ain’t going for that and he’s going to continue to recruit elite qb’s year in and year out and won’t guarantee him a spot or guarantee he won’t get yanked.

But, But... i thought last week, LSU has made the strongest push and was in a good position? I sure hope this kid makes it and lives up to the hype!
