know this kid and his family very well. they actually live in the same neighborhood as us. our kids played at mandeville together. great kid and really great parents......and my wife was pissed when i was cheering for this miss!!!!! and then celebrated......don't wish the kid any ill will, but hey, you grew up in Louisiana knowing Alabama is the enemy of the this state. don't expect people to root for you or feel sorry for you when something like this happens...and trust me, he's going to be fine in life after football.

Wasn’t only his fault. Game should have never come down to a kick. The whole team was a dumpster fire.

More of the Defense ... but yea, not his fault based on 1 play.

No need for an apology. Football is a team sport. If the team plays better, then 1 kick doesn't have to be on the line. Suck it up, move on to the bowl game.

Don't worry about it Joseph - the only people criticizing you are chumps whose biggest successes in life are finally getting on steady at the plant after working there part time for 10 years and beating their 7 year old nephew at ping pong.

No need for an apology, he did his best and obviously nobody who is sane thinks he intentionally missed it. That said, it’s obvious that he has no business being a college kicker. He should turn in his jersey and give up his scholarship to somebody who is.

you got me on this one, well played

Head up, Joseph! It just wasn't Bama's year and that came down more to the defensive side of the ball! Hate that he feels the need to apologize as he doesn't owe anything to anyone.

And it wasn’t even his fault. That Miss was on his holder, Mac Jones. Watch the replay. When they zoom in on the ball, look how it’s leaned. It is leaning towards the kicker. It should have been leaning away from him. See, all kickers have a tendency to hit a draw when we kick, and leaning the ball away from us mitigates that draw for the most part. However, leaning it towards us enhances a draw, turning it into a hook; which is what you saw last night, and why he hit the upright. If the ball is leaned away from him, bam, tie game.

Should be a Timex instead of a Bulova. Timex keeps on "kicking".

I guess the death threats have started coming in.

He's a kicker under Saban, a coach that heaps the pressure on you.

A kicker issued an apology seeking validation? Don't care.

Yeah you suck as a kicker but you don't owe the fans an apology. Just suffer in silence, move on and use it to get better, that's what you do.

I'm not sure why he felt the need to do this. Everyone knew he was going to miss the kick.

He and the Ole Miss kicker can practice together during the off season

He sounds a lot like Tebow that time they lost to UGA, I think. Except, he's a kicker and he's no Tim Tebow.
