So if I’m just a tad smaller than you, and relatively new, which Suzuki should I look in to? I feel like the 400 you mentioned might be too much
re: Nissan Titan Opinions

My only opinion on the Nissan Titan is that it’s quite possibly the ugliest truck I’ve ever seen in production.
They look like some form of generic pickup truck on a movie or tv show where they can’t use official logos or brand names. They’re absolutely hideous in my completely worthless opinion

Thanks for the reply, been meaning to get back to you, but life happens
Correct!
This is true. From what I’ve been able to tell, the 230 is rare and the ones I’ve found aren’t close to New Orleans
Which brings up a question I have.. when looking into bikes, does location matter that much? What I mean is, are dirt bikes shipped a lot? If I found one I liked in North Carolina for example, is shipping it a realistic option? I understand the risks of buying a bike without physically seeing it and testing it, just weighing my potential options
I’m interested… do you think a KLX230R would be too small for me?
I’m not 100% sold on the CRF230, I understand what you’re saying about potentially outgrowing it quick.. I wouldn’t mind giving the 250 or even the 300 a shot. I’m a Honda guy. My Rancher lasted my dad and I 18 years and was still running perfect when we gave it away to a family friend. I’ve worked on a couple four stroke Honda dirt bikes in the past and they were just so simple. I guess I’m sort of a Honda guy but I’m not completely sold out to the brand
I’m definitely going to stay away from this. I’d be more likely to go with an electric dirtbike than something with that much power.. my son just got an ETM RTR Lite. If you’re not familiar with them, take a quick look. They’re a blast to ride. They just released their Alpha XL model which is a bigger motor with more power, bigger tires, etc…. Pretty awesome in my opinion but honestly I’m leaning more towards a gas powered machine
I’ll go check them out! Thanks man

you're looking for a "learner bike" to not only learn to be a better rider offroad with your son, but also gain the experience of owning/care/maintenance for a bike - yes?
Correct!

CRF fits this role well but a couple thoughts: as I said, they're hard to find because when they do come on market they disappear FAST because they're so sought after for all the reasons above and they're practically indestructible.

'm not saying don't look for a CRF but as someone who's ridden offroad for over 50 years and spent a lot of time chasing the "unicorn" bike that does everything well and is reliable and easy to work on when it does need something .... I would point you to the KLX300. You're not as likely to outgrow it as quickly - maybe never - they're damn fine bikes with better power, suspension, and ergos right out of the box. And being newER, they're easy to find at good prices if you're patient.

I would resist the temptation to jump immediately into a 400-class bike based on what you're saying and they can hurt you if you get in over your head.

I want it because I’m new to dirt bikes. I mean, I know how to ride, but I’ve never had my own. Always been a four wheeler guy. My son is starting to ride a lot and I’d like to be able to ride with him.
A buddy turned me on to the 230F. I’m 6’2 225 lbs, and his CR125F (pretty sure that’s what it was) seemed a little too small for me so he recommended the 230. Like yall said, I know there are newer editions with more CCs.. if yall have recommendations I’d be willing to listen - I know Yamaha makes the TTRs, but I’m not too keen on those
Don’t call me a fig or anything but I’m contemplating the ETM RTR Alpha XL as well. It’s an electric dirtbike. My son has the LITE, and honestly, it’s a badass machine. They’re a ton of fun to ride. My only concern is longevity. I know if I buy a Honda, it’ll last forever. These e-bikes?? Not so sure

Best website for used dirt bikes?
Posted by Mr. Hangover on 1/20/26 at 3:50 pm
Other than Facebook, are there any decent options for buying/selling dirt bikes?
Seems like all the pages I’ve found are older websites that aren’t in service anymore. Is everyone just using social media to sell their stuff these days?
Gonna be looking for a CR230F (or something comparable) here pretty soon and they’re honestly pretty hard to find

re: can anyone explain seriously, how can Houston have a better Oline and Dline than LSU
Posted by Mr. Hangover on 12/27/25 at 11:00 pm to QB
Dude holy frick how can yall not understand that on one side, you have a team that’s trying to build a program with a majority of players that will be there next year.. and on the other side you have a majority of a team that’s checked out and already thinking about next year with a coaching staff that’s halfway out the door…
I mean, shite. What the hell were you fricking people expecting?? It’s the equivalent of a high school jamboree, and you half developed crybabies are here melting like it’s the SEC championship game during a 11-1 season
You’re the problem, not the team or execution tonight. Shut the hell up and enjoy the last football game for whatever the shite it’s worth before baseball season

Lane Kiffin could make LSUbaw85 on Tigerdroppings an all-SEC QB

re: What's going on with the Belle Chasse bridge?

The shitshow with this bridge is way deeper than the tolls
Bad deals, corrupt councilman, a TERRIBLE paint job (who the frick paints a bridge orange and yellow???), shoddy construction, etc…..
Quite literally everything about this operation has been terrible from the start
