In a recent ESPN interview, USC's new head coach Lincoln Riley opened up about his departure from Oklahoma and shut down the idea that he was trying to avoid the SEC...
quote:

"Oh yeah, I knew that was out there," Riley told ESPN. "Football is football. I wasn't running from the SEC. I was running to USC. That's probably the best way I could answer that."

"The combination here of the elite academics and you've got a proven football history - it's been done here - and then that big L.A. market, all of that ... I just don't know of anywhere else that has those three," Riley said.

I think he could really build a monster there in LA. Think Clemson but even better with all those elite California recruits, he made a wise decision in my opinion

He has a wife he has to keep the approval of. She wears the pants. She dictates when and where she spends his money.

He didn't want any part of the SEC and he knows it.....at OK , he always got curb-stomped by the upper tier SEC teams....he may do fine at USC, but I still doubt they can beat an SEC tam in the playoffs...

And since USC always makes the cheerleaders stand in the down-wind end zone, it's definitely coming from the bench area.
