I would imagine Athens PD was charged up with G-day and Criterioum, but still they deal with these kind of crowds all the time with football games. I remember people used to bring kegs down to Criterium and wheel them around with dollys back in the 90's.
Seems like he could get the charges dropped but if a cop asks you to do something twice do it and go on with your evening.

As I've been told, there are two types of trespass in GA. There is Trespass and Criminal Trespass. NewMoney is referring to criminal trespass. Regular trespass is, like meansonny said, pretty easy to charge.

It’s not easy to charge on a public sidewalk. In fact, it’s impossible. You cannot be trespassed from a public area. You own that area as a taxpayer is the basic premise.

I was referring to hunting land and private ponds and such.

In fact, it’s why they didn’t charge him with trespass, they charged him with obstruction.
That’s code for cop with ego without any other charges. “That boy didn’t listen to me.”
Again, it’ll get squashed but I dislike the optics on the FB program. Kirby will hopefully hire a liaison between Athens PD. Not sure why they get a stiffie everytime they see a Dawg.

I’m not connected enough in that area. I do have a cousin that lives in Watkinsville that’s a grad but he’s not connected to the football program.
Therefore, I’m not sure but my assumption is that Sanford uses Athens PD to secure the facility during games.
