Younger Dawg fans still may or may not realize how good they have it.

My football memory becomes vivid around 1992. Before that I can remember different games but not entire seasons. This is how the first 8 years of my Georgia football memory went…
Record vs. Florida – 1-7
Record vs. Tennessee – 0-8
Combined record – 1-15

Record vs. Tennessee – 8-0
Combined record – 15-1
…Even though there's been plenty of time for it to sink in, it still seems surreal. Growing up as a Georgia fan in the '90s, never in a thousand years would I think that this was even possible.
It goes back even a little further than that. Tennessee's last 4 coaches have a losing record against Georgia, and come October 31, Florida's last 5 coaches will have a losing record against Georgia. Incredible!

Every year I have to force myself to really take it all in. In the 90s, or hell even under Richt for that matter, even somethign as simple as a win over Auburn or Tennessee felt enromous. IT was a cause for celebration that lasted a full week and something you'd rewatch all summer.
Now it's such a routine humdrum occurence it can sometimes feel like a once-a-season chore to check off of a task list before moving on a few minutes afterward. I try to stop myself whenever I get to thinking that way and realize how unprecedented this all is.
Despite how hard our own fanbase is on the program (more so than non-fans IMO), we are without question the best team in CFB of this decade.

About 15 years ago there was some atrocious stat about the number of times we'd beaten Auburn and Florida in the same season during the previous X number of seasons. Fast forward to 2024, and Auburn was our homecoming opponent and the game had the energy of a non-conference opener. It's frigging surreal.

We could probably go 9-4 or 8-5 the next 4 seasons and still end up being the Team of the Decade in the SEC. Right now we're the Team of the Decade in college football, and only Ohio State looks to be in a position to do anything about it.

I moved to the outskirts of Columbia SC back in 2004 and I swear we used to lose every other game to those assholes…even when we supposed to be in contention.
One of those years a girl I worked with that was a huge SCe fan plastered my office walls with pic copies of Foghorn leghorn paddling that dog in the cartoon.
I was in the stadium when USCe beat us after their season long losing streak.
In the stadium at LSU when they drilled us when we had Green and Shockley. Richt had made some comment that pissed off all of the LSU fans too….that was fun.

Well you're not wrong, there was a period of time there where SC had our number big time.
00, 01, 07, 10-12, 14...that's a lot more losses to a team of their caliber than we should expect in that short of a time span.

Shark fricker won the WLOCP in 2015 and 16 and then got fired after Kirby stomped him in 2017.

Now that you type that out it's kind of crazy to me that JM was only there 3 seasons. Idk why but it sure felt like he was there longer than that.

Since the start of the 2017 season, Georgia’s record against Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Clemson is 36-2.
That is a wet dream to any Georgia fan who lived through literally any prior era of the program.

That is so insane that I think a fan of literally any program (yes bama included) would take that in a heartbeat as well.

I agree, but there are 10-year-old Georgia fans walking this Earth right now that don’t know any other existence.

I was a student in the ‘90-92 seasons. 1990 was godawful (4-7), yet somehow we beat Alabama that year. ‘91 was better and in ‘92, we could have won it all. We were that good, but couldn’t get over the UF hurdle.

That is an incredible stat. I'm 56 years and I remember a time when fans used to say, "If we could just win the 'big 3' (UF, Auburn and GT) every year, it would be a good season. Throw in a championship or 2 and it would be a great season."

We've won the SEC 3 of the last 4 years. Imagine that in the mid 90's when I would have been happy to just beat Tennessee.

'14 had to be the most costly and nauseating.
Kept us out of the SECG when were clearly the best team in the East.
I'm pretty confident that team could have easily played with 'Bama
if they were clicking. Beat 4 top 25 teams by an average of 27 points including a complete beat down of eventual East champ Mizzou.
What a waste.

The Florida loss was way more inexcusable than the South Carolina loss. South Carolina game was early in the year, in Columbia with Spurrier still coaching SC and the game came down to the final few plays.
Florida, we just got our asses whipped by a significantly inferior team on a neutral field. Pretty sure we had a BYE going into that game as well.
