This is the unpopular opinion that wins the thread IMO

Is it even that unpopular of an opinion? I didn't realize there were people who liked it? I'm neutral on the song in general I suppose but don't really see any reason to connect it to Sanford...

It achieves the effect of making me think of UGA football when the keyboard and piano start up on the radio and that’s good enough for me.
That being said we have like 4 pregame intros: band on the field, Munson montage, Nickleback (really surprised this hasn’t made an appearance in this thread), and Baba O Reilly. Of all of these, Baba O Reilly is easily my favorite

I’m a fan of The Who, think they are vastly historically underrated and it’s just not Saturday in Athens without Baba...takes me back to being a kid watching the Dawgs.

So what’s your take on die hard Georgia fans who’ve lived their whole life here but never attended UGA?
That’s the best kind there is.
They’re from here. It’s their home. They grew up following the program. Living and dying on every play. It’s part of who they are and they are part of what Georgia football is.
Whether a Georgia fan actually went to the school or not means nothing. That’s what I meant about it being a regional thing that makes CFB so great. It’s about loving Georgia. Our home.

I think it's ironic singing about a teenage wasteland right before a bunch of teenagers play football. The song is out of place and awkward. Anyway, I doubt many of the players would recognize a Who song.

Unfathomable.
Baba O'Reilly is a great song and when Larry Munson's greatest calls are added it becomes legendary. I get chills when I hear it in the offseason

Unpopular opinion:
Coley will be worse than Chaney was in 2016

Define worse.
It would be hard to have worse production given the personnel we have now vs. 2016.

I didn’t think I could agree with you on something so completely and yet here we are.

I think it made more sense when the UGA student body seemed to be more poor, broke college kids living off ramen and nickel pitchers instead of the current crop who seem to all live in thousand-a-month apartments close to downtown and drive $30k cars their parents subsidize in exchange for getting to live vicariously through their children. Whatever happened to dad’s midlife crisis taking the form of an obnoxious Porsche or Vette rather than turning their kid into the obnoxious object of their youth?

More predictable. More vanilla. Will play it very safe because it is his chance at redemption from his Miami days and will not want to be "cute" for lack of a better word.

Man, I’m very, very down on Coley and don’t think he was the right hire, but if he is worse than 2016 Chaney given the talent on the field this year, Kirby should be fired for malpractice.

But shouldn't a "good" unpopular opinion be rewarded for being such?

I think you overestimate their chances.
But hey, at least we have a playoff and the bowls don't mean dick anymore.

Just once, I'd like to see a college with the balls to come out to an English soccer hooligan song like "Hate, Kill, Destroy" or "I Feel A Death Coming On", or pretty much anything by Cannibal Corpse or GG Allin.

As a 22 year in town Athens resident I will 'Amen' this till the cows come home. They do all seem to be exceedingly nice kids, though.
