If Ramsey owned the mental game, he would have been the starter on day 1 of spring, undisputed. The fact he isn't tells us something.

I'd love for him to prove me wrong. He has a helluva arm.

My point was if Ramsey or Bauta didn't have what it would take to assume the starting role then I would've thought the coaches would have already figured that out prior to now. The Lambert grab is making alot of sense now.

I really think that CMB leaving did a number on BR's confidence...the kid can lead, Iv'e seen him do it...I just don't know that he got maybe too comfortable with Bobo and now he is all messed up in the head with CBS barking at him...I mean...it's like I said...CMB was mentoring that kid since he was like 15 at least...maybe younger believe it or not...and then his world got rocked....let's hope he gets his issues fixed, cinches up his britches and gets shite done...I know he can....that is why I have been such a huge proponent...he has all the tools...let's hope a leader...as mentioned in the other thread, can help him become one too...

I'm all for Ramsey playing. I hope he has a great year. I don't care who starts as long as they play well. I just think if someone plays awful the leash should be fairly short so we can make sure we got the right person for the job.

No, I don't believe younger.

I highly doubt that in 2009 when we had a senior cox and underclassmen mett/murray/gray that Bobo was spending much time mentoring a 14 year old.

I agree...and I think GL is the security blanket that gave CMR the warm fuzzy he needed...

Explain to me the extent of this mentoring relationship. College coaches keep in contact with recruits for years. Lots of kids on visits will sit down with coaches and break down film, go over coverages, etc. That's natural.

The way you describe it makes it sound like Bobo was spending his weekends down south throwing the pigskin around in Brice's backyard since he was in 8th grade.

I saw CBS turn Austin Davis into a pretty decent QB last season. Then the OL issues started hitting that team and they were screwed. He will find the right guy to run this offense. And given the tools at his feet I'm confident Ramsey can make it happen. But hey I'm a hopeless optimistic dawg fan

you are better than that...don't be a douche nozzle WG...

my point was that he loved CMB...was offered by UGA first, committed to us, and stayed true despite offers from Bama, FSU, OSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, MSU, and UF...of which he grew up a fan...why?

CMB...that is why...I have told you guys b4 that I know BR...and he has always said it was CMB that kept him with UGA...even when CMR was on the serious hot seat a few yrs back...kid told me that as long as CMB was there, he was staying UGA...so

is it not natural for there to be some hiccups in his progression to the starting job when HIS coach leaves the program?...that was my one and only point...you are turning it in to something else...

as I said, you are a better poster than that dude...

Sounds to me like he thought he had it made in the shade with Bobo, and now that his OC has changed, he is showing that he isn't as prepared as he needs to be.

To that end, if he isn't showing the mental toughness to convince the new OC, then give me Lambert.

CMR is waiting on the results from the high dive plunge before making a selection. I believe today is the day they head to the pool to celebrate the end of the two-a-days that never happened.

Critical metric that should not be ignored.

They had a two-a-day yesterday. NCAA restricts practices for the first 5 days now. Also, we are only doing the 1 this year. It's fairly typical nowadays.

I think BR is the QB and has been from Mason's last snap. They are continuing to make it a contest for 3 reasons:

1. It's good for BR to play in a pressurized environment since he has very little game experience. Keeping his job in question is the next best thing in terms of playing under pressure.

2. Respect for Bauta. He's a good kid, prepares and practices hard, and they want him to continue to put pressure on BR.

3. We are wafer thin at QB if the coaches go all in on BR which then prompts Bauta to leave for greener pastures. So we need to keep Bauta in the mix. Once the season starts the threat is over, so they can make BR the man and not worry about hurt feelings.

And I also believe BR will be our starter for two years because we redshirt Eason next year.

The only red shirt Eason wears is the one with the number of the starting QB in the first home game next year...

Usey remembers doing 2 straight weeks of 2 a days back in the day including Sat and Sunday.

College football was much different back then

This will not happen. I'm not saying Eason starts all year, or even many games, but I don't think there is much of a chance he redshirts.

There is no advantage to keeping Eason completely out of action next year. How much Jacob plays depends on his relative performance. I hope he lights up scoreboards like a Christmas tree.
