I can agree that some of Bennett's recent comments are straddling the line between swagger (good) and arrogance (bad) but I think people are making too big of a deal about it. His coaches and team mates seem to love him and have much respect for him.

if this story bears out, it would lead me to believe his heart wasn't in it after returning from injury.

I think this goes back to the Georgia staff clearing JT to play and him bringing in his own doctor and deciding he was not ready to play. I doubt Kirby responded that JT could then tell the coaches when he wanted to play.

Per several outlets, this decision was made after he met with Kirby. When you put Bennett's post-game and GMA comments together with this, it's clear that Bennett was issuing veiled threats that he'll leave if not guaranteed to be the starter (and likely also that no portal QB is taken who would post a threat). Kirby clearly agreed to this (we've let all the top portal QBs get away by now), and Kirby probably told Daniels directly or indirectly that the situation would be like this year (meaning: you may be healthy, but we're not going to truly reopen the QB competition).
Based on Bennett's post-game comments, seems to be more like Bennett not wanting competition, not Daniels. Daniels just wants a legitimate opportunity to play, which makes sense as he was previously a starter, but he obviously concluded that wasn't going to happen. Definitely wouldn't blame him. He needs a season with playing time.
It's going to be interesting to see if Vandagriff is ready to go. He could very well be the top backup.

Let it go.

Stetson is taking orders at Raising Cains, while running off QB competition on his flip phone. Savage.

Stetson might get a taste of that humble pie next year when that defense isn’t keeping him in games

If he gets any humble pie, he’ll have plenty of opportunity to get left overs from the cünt nation.

Lol yes he was on a National championship winning team just like Buck Belue. But let’s be real neither of them are the sole reason why we won a National championship

And the absolutely biggest count on this page is Peter fricking buck

It's a damned shame you missed the entire 4th quarter, last Monday.

Gotta be getting news on Beck's departure soon, too, leaving Bennett, BVG and Gunner, yes?

I just think it’s hilarious that no one other than you is entitled or cable of forming their own opinion on Ga football, and if it’s something you don’t agree with they are automatically a cünt

I forgot Bennett held Alabama to all those redzone field goals… guess you missed the entire first 3 quarters

He did? I remember the defense was assigned 80% blame when we lost the SECCG. If so, seems about accurate for the defense to get 80% credit for us winning the title game.

Bennett gets same level of credit as Buck Belue in 1980 in my book. He managed things and didn't lose the game. That's a win. But he may be setting himself up.

Should have left on top...

It's football. It ain't a one man show. The best play...why is that so hard? Or are you another guy claiming you know more about football than the coaching staff...after they see the practices, film studies, and behind the scene evals?

ETA: Two simple questions:

1- Who was the Offensive MVP in the Orange Bowl?
2- Who was the Offensive MVP in the National Championship?

Fixed it. A QB from metro Atlanta wouldn't fit Kirby's system and personality, whether white or not.

You seem to be delusional.

The kid was offensive MVP and managed the offense to put points on the board. He had some really good throws to move the ball and get us points and you want to say he’s nothing more than Buck Belue? You know what Buck’s stat line was in that game, right? Not even comparable.

Bennett isn’t an all-world QB but he should get some credit for how he didn’t manage to fold under the pressure but instead helped us win our first championship in 41 years. He was a big contributor to that end. Don’t forget it.
