Didn’t really wanna start a new thread on this, but he’s playing pretty good football right now.

He very much seems like Keith Marshall (pre-2014), and despite the occasion of tripping himself up, he’s been less utilized between the tackles and more in the passing game. He was a matchup nightmare against Bama and Mizzou.

Kudos to Monken for finding his strengths and using them to the team’s advantage. I know our fanbase has been frustrated with his play at times, but he’s really looked like a playmaker at many points in the season.

He looks bigger to me this year. I think he has bulked up some without losing any speed

I like that he’s been given more opportunities to make plays other than the obvious jet sweep and swing pass.

I really hope he and other players who can improve their draft stock return next year.

He has improved making the first man miss.
Once he can do that, he often gets a chance to showcase his burst.

I love him catching angle routes out of the backfield. I dont think we can throw those enough as any linebacker on him will get torched.

I think he can do great things in the draft for 2022.

But running backs need to consider leaving early.
Limited tread.
High injury probability position.

I think he's gone next season. I really like his improvement, but I have a feeling his departure will make room for guys who will do more with their touches.

More Kenny McIntosh on screens. More passes to the TE. More Burton on short crossing routes. More Milton.

I hope he's a great pro, but I think those other guys getting more opportunities will make the team better.

Been playing very good the vast majority of the year and he's our most explosive player in our backfield

He was banged up almost the entire year in '19 and part of '18.Its the first time his ankle has been 100% since he got here. For some reason most in this board didn't realize the situation

Theres no doubt he plays on Sundays...I just hope sticks around for his senior year

ETA: Coley did a horrible job of getting him in space last year

Monken is actually using Cook the right way.....

I've been really impressed at Monken's playcalling..... He even got results with a 5th stringer.... No offense Stetson.... But it is true !

He has played much better lately. The catch he made this past Saturday was actually really nice cause he caught it over his shoulder and most RB's have a hard time doing that.

I don't think there's any way he stays one more. I wish he would cause he's just now hitting his stride and he could so some serious damage next year, but I think he knows how risky that is. I don't think Zeus stays either given his injury history unfortunately.

It's been a pleasure watching him develop. Even his pass protection has improved dramatically.

I agree. Having cook back would be like having sony in 2017.

But we have great skillsets in kenny mcintosh, dajin edwards, and I have high hopes for lovasea.

I think Cook and White are finishing the season strong, but it would probably help their draft stock tremendously if they both stayed. They could both say frick it and stay kinda like sony and chubb did and 2017 and try to win a natty. They could easily be first/second-round picks as well.

The problem I see with that is you will have way too many mouths to feed and someone will end up pissed and transfer.

While I think Z. White could in theory take another year he might also not be helped because McIntosh, Milton, Edwards and potentially some true freshmen might actually reduce his statistical production.

I have a strong feeling that Zamir White is gone. Two ACL injuries already, he's not going to take the chance.

Except for not using Big 0 Washington more. That dude is a matchup nightmare for defenses.

Cook has deceptive speed. He looks like he is strolling down the field but few can catch him. Reminds me of Hank Aaron chasing a fly ball.

I think it has more to do with having a QB that finds open receivers downfield and isn't afraid to take shots. That opens up your playbook tremendously and you can move the ball around to a lot more people. I don't think it's as much play design as it is having a QB that executes effectively, and receivers holding on to the ball instead of dropping it or running the wrong route. Defense can't stack the box anymore, so guys like cook actually have a chance to make the first man miss. All of our RB's stats have gone up with JTD.

I look for them to depart, also. But, I don't think either one right now will be drafted, just my opinion.

Michel and Chubb helped their pocketbook immensely by coming back for another year.

That's the irony. A RB will likely get 1-2 contracts, and the first will be a larger portion of the total earnings.

Because the window and earning potential is smaller, it makes sense to get the biggest initial payday possible.
