How on earth could anyone answer this question without having any idea how the game played out?
Last year we ended up giving OM the lead because our defense forgot basic fundamentals and gave up a giant gain on 3rd down. We let chambliss run around and make us look silly ala joe burrow in 2019. Sure the offense could've helped more too, but there's also blame to go around to Kirby, our backup center, and several others that don't directly involve bobo playcalling.
And as has bene mentioned a ton, I'm ever so slowly starting to come aroudn to the idea that the 1st round bye is overall harmful. At first I brushed it off as silly...you're a higher seeded team playing a wosre team, you line up for 60 minutes and that's all there is to it. But we have 8 games now which isn't really an aberration and we can establish some clear trends, and in those 8 games 7 of them (88%!!!) have bene won by the lower seeded team. Those lower seeded teams got to play (usually) some sacrificial lamb creampuff in the first round to knock a months' worth of rust off while the higher seed hasn't played in 5 weeks.

Wow. So, if a team loses a 45-42 shootout with the other team kicking a game-winning FG as time expires, is that the OC's fault?

The offense wasn't great in that game.
Got a defensive score to help but we were awful on third down and could never adjust to their DL stunting. bobo being out was probably most noticeable in this game but we had weeks to prepare for it and didn't really have a good plan for what Ole miss was doing.

If the final score is 70-63, no, probably not. If the final score is 3-0, yeah, that makes sense.

Exactly. Miserable sonsofbitches are already looking for a way to draw attention to themselves, and the season hasn't even started yet.
However I think that the offense and defense both let us down in that game. The defense moreso, but the offense had a long dry spell when we could've built a lead and it gave Ole Miss belief. Scored 27 points. Not bad. But definitely not great either.

Get the ball at midfield and have to settle for a 55 yard field goal we missed.

4 plays and a sack fumble
Gunner Stocton might have had the highest fourth quarter passer rating in college football history last year (seriously woulnd't surprise me if he did) and Gunner did what he does in the fourth quarter after that, but the dry spell killed us in that game.

The Dawgs could win the Natty by 100 points and Bobo could make sweet love to the Virgin Mary on the 50 yard line while getting the trophy and the frick faces would bitch about the hair on his arse.

Only if you refuse to blame the defense for playing poorly in the 2nd half of the game. But, if you only want to hate on the OC, you can do so,

Georgia hit the field on Saturday afternoon for its first scrimmage of fall practice. UGASports sources were on hand to observe the Bulldogs on the field.
Here’s everything we are hearing.
One source described the scrimmage as “very sloppy.”
It was another day when the defense got the better of the offense. UGASports was told the defensive backs were “locking down” the receivers, who also dropped several passes throughout the day. London Humphreys proved to have the steadiest hands.
“When you have some big drops like today, you’re not getting first downs against that (defense),” one observer said.
Another observer described the Bulldog defense as “very fast” and said the group does an impressive job of limiting opponents’ chances to create explosive plays.
UGASports was also told it was a good day for Gunner Stockton, even though the receivers didn’t help much.
Kirby Smart called out Georgia Tech transfer receiver Isiah Canion on special teams, imploring him to block on kickoff return. Canion also dropped what would have been a touchdown pass on third down.
Freshman offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko sprung a long touchdown run for the second-team offense with a key downfield block on a defensive back. That proved to be the only touchdown of the day that we heard about.
Another freshman, Jae Lamar, fumbled at the end of a long reception. That earned a “team’s leading fumbler” remark from Smart.
KJ Bolden laid a big hit on a receiver. “Knocked the s*** out of someone” is the phrase our source used.
A couple of penalties resulted in Smart telling the first-team offensive line they’re “too soft” to play in the stadium.
At one point, Georgia’s first-team offense made its way into the red zone. A snap over Stockton’s head, however, short-circuited the drive and led to a field goal. The snap wasn’t from Drew Bobo, although we haven’t been able to confirm who the center was

From another source, to confirm, it was not a good day for the wide receivers. There were numerous drops.
The only touchdown of the game came from Ryan Montgomery to Bo Walker.
Per a source at the scrimmage, Stockton played only a handful of series. The source added that all the quarterbacks actually looked solid. They just didn’t get anything due to the drops.
Starting defense “looked awesome.”
We’re told that Kyron Jones was “laying people out.” He started at the other safety spot opposite KJ Bolden. One hit put a hurt on wide receiver Craig Dandridge. Another on the game’s second play knocked the helmet of Dwight Phillips Jr. five feet into the air.
Jah Jackson and Ekene Ogbokeo followed Earnest Greene III at left tackle.
Tight end Elyiss Williams caught a couple of nice balls. He also had a couple of drops. Tight end Jaden Reddell had a ball go off his hands for an interception.

Landon Roldan with 2 long catches in the team periods and Ethan Barbour with a "great catch" for a TD to end practice..
They went a little shorter to get their legs back under them , but they were in Shoulder Pads so it was not a walk through type practice..

Legitimate points, certainly, but everybody should also remember that once in the playoffs, you face much better teams and much better defenses....as a whole. When you look at the round of playoff games (starting in the round we played our first game, here are the scores:
Oregon 23
Texas Tech 0
Alabama 3
Indiana 38
Ole Miss 39
Georgia 34
Miami 31
Ole Miss 27
Oregon 22
Indiana 56
Miami 21
Indiana 27
We actually scored a decent amount of points considering. I mean, outside Indiana, we would have been out scored by Mimi in one game when they scored 31 against Ole Miss. Indiana got hot and was off the chain the entire playoffs, but scoring 27 was not a huge disappointment...not as much as giving up 39, which was the big failure. You just can't give up 39 points in the playoffs and expect to win.
Yes, we could have (Should have) beaten Ole Miss, but I'm not entirely sure we can pin that loss on the offense. (Well, yes, a little)

Give credit where it's due for Trinidad Chambliss. He was doing amazing things, undefendable things, in that game.
