Really suprising

Beforehand I said Godwin would run a 4.6 and Hardman would get a 4.34

I'm disappointed in myself

4.34 on the second attempt and didn't get out that quickly.

Godwin ran a 4.55 u which would be a solid time for him.

Coming out early is too often a mistake for players. Getting another year of experience playing in the SEC can not be anything but good for you. I know, I know a guy can get injured. There can only be 32 guys to go in the first round.
It seems like every year there are about 100 guys projected to go in the first two rounds.

Too often they listen to would-be-agents, imo.

Generally, I think RBs should almost always go early because of the short shelf life of their careers. QBs, TEs, and linemen should almost always stay because it's a much harder transition.

For WRs, if you're one of the AJ or Julio types, you go because there's nothing left to prove. If you're a Riley Ridley type, you look at the competition in the draft. This is a weak WR class.

year was really his only REAL year of film and even then he was 2nd string.

He started almost every game. He wasn’t gonna get faster by staying. Nfl guys know what he can do with the ball. Shelf life is short. He made the right call nfl wise.

Yea, Holyfield having a less than stellar combine isn’t an indication that he made a mistake. He wasn’t gonna get faster with another year under his belt. He is what he is.

People make it out as if a 3rd year tailback can never make a mistake by leaving early.

I don't think it works that way.

I think the point is this year's RB class is one of the weaker ones, and that's why it's better for him if he left.

Maybe, but next's years class should be better. I'm not sure how staying an extra year and leaving in a more loaded RB class, one where your own teammate will outclass you, is going to help. He's not going to get any faster.

He will probably run faster at the pro-day.

He won't get taller.
But he definitely can get faster, stronger, and have better hands.

It takes work. And he's the type of kid who would put in the work.

Again... we are too quick to imply that a 3rd year back can't improve his professional career/paycheck by returning a 4th year.

Holyfield was one of the most consistent backs in the country. But there are several huge areas of improvement that he could take advantage of with another year.

Interesting non-UGA player tidbit:

Remember Andy Isabella? He was the little white receiver from UMass who torched our secondary. He ran a 4.31...

Kid is a beast. He got behind Eric Stokes for a long TD bomb.
I'm hoping that is the last TD stokes gives up for his UGA career.

Toward the end of the UMass game some Dawg fans were actually cheering for Andy Isabella. I'm okay with that. The kid was that awesome.

You can bet that Belichick and Brady would love to get that player.

Holyfield is what he is. Just because he wants to be faster doesn’t mean he will be now or next year.

Can a freshman get faster in his sophomore year?
Can a sophomore get faster in his junior year?
Can a junior get faster in his senior year?
Can a pro get faster after leaving college?

At what age is it impossible for an athlete to improve physically?
At what age is it impossible for an athlete to improve agility?
At what age is it impossible for an athlete to improve his coordination?
At what age is it impossible for an athlete to improve his conditioning?

In case you are wondering, Elijah is 20 years old.
