Surprised no one has touched on this yet....

- I'm guessing everyone has seen ELijah's 40 times? 4.72 and 4.8. I dont think that means he made a mistake coming out, but i do wonder why his team told him to run at the combine. I think he could still be a decent 2nd string NFL back.

- Nauta says the NFL draft grade people told him to return for his senior year...he obviously ignored that. never seemed like he and Kirby were on the same page.

anybody got anything else? just saw those tidbits on twitter

I think Nauta and Holyfield both made fairly good decisions. Both will find NFL success and be way better than average performers at their positions. I hated to see them go but wish both well. They are Damn Good Dawgs.

The only one whose decision I really question is Hardman. I think pretty much everyone else made the right call.

Holyfield did not have a good day other than the bench. He's a damn good RB and I think the NFL puts too much stock in these numbers. The most important thing is can a guy play, and Holyfield definitely can.

Holyfield should have pulled a Josh Jacobs and said he had a nagging hamstring industry.

Guess Nauta never saw "Casino": when the draft grade people say "maybe," that's like a papal bull.

I think Nauta is the only one that I could buy into making the right decision (not talking about for their families, talking about from a football perspective) even though the NFL said he should have returned. All the rest could have immensely helped their stock by returning, espcially hardman and holyfield.

Holyfield was probably the biggest head scracther IMO and not just because of his recnet 40 times. He's a guy with really only 1 year of film. Getting mopup carries behind chubb/sony/swift doesn't really tell an NFL team much. So this year was really his only REAL year of film and even then he was 2nd string. I assume it was mostly about money but he definitely should have come back.

I forget the details but I've read reports of the draft advisory grades being far off the mark.

It would be interesting to see all the grades given each year compared with what actually happened.

Funny thing, was when Ridley declared, I was like WTFFFFFFF? What an idiot. Now, I think he will likely be the first Dawg taken in the draft and will be a first round pick (or early 2nd round). I think the Falcons could actually take him.....

Holyfield, Nauta and Ridley made the right decision IMO. However, Hardman is going to get picked up as a return man by someone

Nauta just posted a 4.92 and 4.99 in the 40. Maybe Chaney said “If I can run your 40 time, you ain’t getting the ball”.

Baker will go in the top 20. Ridley will be a second round pick.

The Falcons will probably take a receiver at some point as a future Sanu replacement, but I doubt they spend a high pick on one. They have other, more pressing needs than to add to an already stacked WR group.

Gronk and Jason whitten come to mind, both run good routes to get open. Nauta could be that guy.

Witten ran a 4.65 and gronk a 4.68. They were both 6’6” too. By the time they slowed down a hair they were still 3 inches taller and more polished than nauta. I’m not saying he can’t but I expected much better straight line speed from him.

Gronk was so much faster than Nauta in his younger days and he is a good bit bigger too. That's a horrible comparison. Gronk is the best tight end to ever play the game.

Hardman could actually hit 4.30 next. Godwin didn’t look prepared.

Yep, Mecole stumbled a bit at the top. The young man can fly.
