That’s because they’re busy making their own threads about it.

If it's a qualifying issue then he's just stuck and has to retake it. If he doesn't qualify for us he won't qualify anywhere else. Sucks for him wanting to EE and maybe we have concerns about him screwing up again being stuck at North Shore between now and June when he moves to campus. Actually seems plausible that we agreed to take him contingent upon his being an EE to get him out of his current situation and a low score means he was unable to hold up his end of the deal. That or his score got flagged and we are waiting on the NCAA clearinghouse to say yes or no.

Like I said, it's all just rank speculation for now.

On another board one of the the more respected posters mentioned something about the last Evans incident was a 2nd physical altercation with the coaching staff. Said it took a bit for the whole story to come out which would explain the timing.

This is such a fascinating recruitment.

If it's grades/scores, and his LOI was submitted, I don't understand why Georgia wouldn't just wait it out and try to get him qualified.

Once the LOI has been signed and submitted, I'm pretty sure the spot is gone regardless whether or not the guy ever makes it to campus.

Kirby seems like he's way too good at recruiting to voluntarily just forfeit a spot like that. Then again, he seems like too good of a recruiter to let a guy who's a qualifying risk sign in December, too.

I mean that would also make sense, if Evans signed with us but didn’t tell the whole truth about what might have happened with the cell phone thing. I doubt we will ever know for a fact what is happening and why

What's the "cell phone thing"?

Evans was suspended for the state title game because he wouldn’t give up his cellphone at bed check the night before. He claims it’s because he was waiting to make sure his family got to the hotel ok but this is his second public run-in with his HS coach (who to be fair seems like a bit of dick but it’s his team and his rules)

This makes sense. Teams have nonqualifiers just about every year. I think Florida had several last year. If it is grades you can't just do away with the LOI once it has been submitted.

This year. The second public run in with a coach that led to a suspension this year.

I can't remember specifics, but I read about some run ins similar to the first incident in previous years.

Sounds like the coach was sabotaging him. Escalating that before the title game with such a high profile kid is done to make him look bad.

Why would a HS coach not want the best RB in the country playing for him in the state championship game?

Some leaders aren't happy unless everyone is kissing arse. There are many little Napoleons.

I don't remember a recruitment as bizarre as this one. I'll be glad when it's over with and the recruiting read is about more than 1 player.

If I recall, North Shore also won pretty handily without Evans. May have also been a case of I don’t need you so I’m free to make a point

I'm on record as saying I definitely want this kid, but the level of enablement in these last few posts totally amazes me. A coach is a little Napoleon for expecting all of his players to follow team rules? Nobody else seems to have had a problem handing over their phone. Why is it ok for Evans to expect preferential treatment and then totally blow a gasket when he doesn't get it?

This thinking is probably why he's the way he is.

North Shore coaches knew they were going to win because the other team lost their starting QB(Texas commit). Evans probably plays if that guy wasn't hurt.

I’m not enabling anyone, Im speculating why things went down the way they did. I’m also on record as having said in a previous post that dick or not, it’s the coach’s team and his rules.
