Crow nailed it in the post after mine. UGA visit was better than UT. Probably won't visit Ohio St or FSU. Will come down to VT and UGA.

so is Radi no longer with ESPN and working for 11 Alive? These guys switch employers so much it's hard to keep track.

ETA: Great article, thanks for the link. Sounds like he loves coach Richt and Bobo. Still a tough pull from Washington but it sounds like we're in really good shape before a visit and even better now that Bama has a QB coming in this class.

Has Coach Richt adopted Paul Johnson's commitment policy? I notice a majority of the Georgia recruits do not go on other visits after they verbally commit to UGA & other prospects are holding out longer before they decide & the class is not filling up as quickly.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure that Godwin, Rivers, Owens, etc from this class have all been on visits recently.

As for Glass, I have no clue. He completely fell off the face of the Earth.

Why, because of all the success Paul Johnson has had recruiting?

I'm pretty sure that there is no part of whatever model Coach Johnson is using for recruiting that Georgia is interested in 'adopting'.

GoldenDawg, Sometimes you gotta trust that I know what I am talking about. Fact is, Mark Richt has restricted some verbal commits in the past.. a common practice that many are prolly just unaware of... but Paul Johnson gets full credit for doing... just get the feeling that UGA's class is slower to fill and was wondering if CMR had upped the ante this year?

List of current commits that have visited other schools:
Godwin
Owens
McGraw

That's 3 of 12 total commits. Mark Richt doesn't restrict transfers from SEC schools so why would he keep commits from enjoying the process? And a few of our guys just recently committed and haven't had time to visit other schools. Some just don't care to. They're committed and don't want to deal with the hassle of travel time, scheduling, and cost of taking visits to schools they don't have interest in. Richt has never had a history of blocking commits from visiting and he would be dumb to start doing it.

Richt doesn't want recruits to decommit & some prolly have a longer leash than others.. Really though, I'm just wondering how many players ya had this time last year or maybe the year before? Might be the same for all I know.

About the same last year, maybe less. More the year before, but a much bigger class. Much less the previous two years, iirc.

This is a pretty standard pace. Others schools are just filling up quicker.

I also get the feeling 1-2 come in the next week and then 1-3 at Dawg Day/NIght camp. I think these announcements are fairly scripted as far as the time by the coaches once the players say yes to the offer in private.

I thought I read something about his grades a while back, but I could be dead wrong because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere since he committed.

You can't offer everyone. I would be very surprised that they didn't know of him, though. That area is heavily scouted by UGA, FSU, and UF. I would assume for one reason or another, others were just higher on the board.

Maybe, I have no idea. I'm sure a quick google search could come up with the answer. But, he seemed like a real turd that won't ever help anybody in the SEC/ACC unless he REALLY gets his act together.
