Missed this one, but I'm going into the end of this recruiting cycle with an open mind as to what could happen. That way it won't be too disappointing if it goes poorly, and I'll be pleasantly surprised if it goes well.

We're not getting Hyat. I'd love to land the Griffin kid for his abilities to return kicks.

I'm going in with the expectation of not signing anyone, so I don't have to commit suicide when none of the major recruits decide to be Dawgs.

I'm going in expecting a disappointing finish because that's not only what I expect but also because it keeps me sane.

247 says after the in-home with Wesley Green this week, UGA is still the team to beat. He'll take OVs to Athens, USCjr and somewhere else.

ETA: Chris Wilson will be at Dontavious Russell's game tonight. (Commit Kendall Baker will be playing in the Marist vs Carrollton game, too).

also I'm sure (hopefully) that someone will be at the North Gwinnett vs McEachern game with all the talent that's going to be there (Brown, Griffin, Edoga, Hyatt, etc)

Does anyone know exactly what happened with Russell? I mean I know we jump to the ole crazy conclusion that money exchanged hands, but lets toss that off the table. What OTHER reasons would he decommit from UGA and start courting aU? I mean they have been lucky this year and are the "hot" team, but was that enough?

His family is all-AU. His uncle played there. Since AU has gotten better this year, they've pushed him more in that direction.

Outside what's been said about the magic of the 2013 iron bowl and his family pro AU you have to imagine that 1) Ellis Johnson is actually good at his job and 2) Malzahn has already shown a helluva lot more in terms of getting a title than our staff. I love Georgia but I could see why anyone would choose AU over UGA...outside of academics, campus, location, downtown and literally everything outside of coaching

Christian Miller tells 247 that his OV to Bama is Jan 17, but he is strongly considering an OV to UGA, too. Olivadotti is supposed to be visiting him next week. Hopefully we could get the OV after Bama.

So true. Dee Liner comes to mind. Didn't he threaten to pull the scholarship offer if he visited UGA that weekend? Pretty sure that was the rumor.

It's bold but when you hold the clout he does it can be pretty useful. Then you have people like CPJ who do it and recruits are like, umm, ok, well see ya!

Oliver's CFT today says it's because of Garner.

Ellis Johnson's D is the one that allowed a 21-pt comeback in the 4th quarter. IS he that much better?

Literally every ball bounced Auburn's way this season. Hell, they only lost something like 9 of 20+ balls fumbled. That is enough luck to make any coach look better than he is. After losing Cam in 2011, his offense didn't look quite so impressive.

Since you brought it up.

Are we gonna base Ellis Johnson's work at DC off of his first year at AU only? Guy was solid as hell at USCe even if he was awful as a HC.
