Trying to see how this game is close at all with the exception of turnovers causing it to be.

I was thinking three scores. That's four. Vegas knows more than me.

I've lit my cigar.

I think the Auburn spread was 28 points and I thought that was really high. I think having a new coach, Napier, plays into the spread. Their O & D have struggled at times. Turnovers will play a part if we cover the spread. Hopefully we have gotten our bad games out of the way(Kent St & Missouri). I think we will score 28-31 points; I'm predicting something like 31-17. Florida has good rushing stats and bad passing so if we can limit their run game and keep turnovers down maybe we cover.

To be sure, -22.5 is a large spread, but this is not a good UF team, and Napier has not helped with his decision making. Overall, I will praise the UF kids for not quitting on Napier like they did Mullen, but they just don't have the depth of talent to match up in a four quarter game, minus self-inflicted wounds by UGA.

You have to believe that Kirby will have these guys focused and ready to play, in Jax. This game means a ton to South Georgia boys like Kirby and me.

That sounds like the Hallmark for a good ol Gator stomping.
UGA has been the best team in the country the better part of 5 years against the run.

It really does. I mean, I can't recall a time other than the Missouri game in the last 3 seasons where a rb broke for huge runs. It seems like Fl will need to muster up a stellar passing attack to win.

Walk the safeties up in the box. Jam the receivers and dare them to throw the ball.

I disagree. We will need to stop Tennessee's running attack with a 5 man box.

Stuff the run with the bare minimum.
Work to shed blocks and make plays at the line.
Work to control the line of scrimmage with athleticism and technique.

If we need to change things, then adjust. But challenge our men to dominate their opponent in front of them.

All of UFs games have been close and I would expect this one to be closer than the most think.

Watch the Missouri game.

The formula for us getting beat by bad teams goes:

-Shitty OL play
-Kicking FG’s in the red zone
-Turnovers
-Teams abusing Kamari Lassiter

The gators have had a hard time stopping good rushing teams this year.

Georgia needs to pass enough to keep the secondary honest but run the ball down their throats. Dooley did it all the time when he took teams to Jacksonville.

that game was about as bad as could possibly play, and as well as they possibly could have, on the road at night, and we still won. You're right about many of the reasons though.

-oddly bad playcalling by monkey for 75% of the game. Was definitely not his usuall badass self
-after going 3 and out on drive 1, on our second drive we have a huge run and fumble to give htem the ball rihgt back
-Our next 2 drives were a total of 7 plays both of which resulted in punts
-next drive stetson fumbled

We played comically bad whcih lets a home crowd linger and stay in it, to go along with their kicker being automatic from pretty much anywhere inside of 60 yards. All of the above is not something that youd' reasonably expct to happen frequently

In the second half we got our shite together and outscored them 20-6. Basically what I'm saying is, I don't think we should go into any game expected to lose or be in a tight one based simply on "we might have a bunch of turnovers today"

We went into several games this season "working on us".

Offensively against Kent St and Mizzou, we tried to be a zone running team. Daijun Edwards is a pretty dang good zone runner. Kenny is good at it too.

The benefit of being a zone running team is that it will mask our RPO frequency (more difficult to trick us into a bad decision).

The 2nd half of mizzou and Auburn, we were primarily a gap scheme (power/counter) running team. This is more Kendall Milton and Branson Robinson's forte. I think our OL is better at this as well (see how differently we looked against a good mizzou defensive front).

Against Vandy, we worked on us again. A good mix of both.

The last thing we want to do is become a dominant one dimensional team. Gus Malzahn running the same 5 plays over and over again and hoping to have a counter if a defense cheats to stop it (fails when a defense can rep those 5 plays and stop it without having to cheat. When my man beats your man, I win).

We didn't expect to do to the 2nd half of the season a bunch of jet sweeps, screens, RPOs and counter like we did to Oregon and South Carolina. We have the personnel. But it can be schemed.

I realize that 22.5 is a bundle of points to give, especially to a hated rival, but I do believe the Dawgs cover for the third consecutive game. Dawgs are starting to hit their stride at the right time of the season and perhaps get Carter, Mondon and AD back ... Kirby shows no mercy Saturday .. Dawgs win 45-17.

I’d like to see us actually catch some downfield passes. Hopefully get our long threat back.
