Yep, seeing it reported severa places. Read that their new HC is Mike Sherman’s son in law who was a grad assistant under him here at A&M so he knows Turner from that time.
Sucks for us, hope Jimbo goes and gets another good one.

The relationship is this: Taylor is Sherman's son in law. Turner is Sherman's cousin. So the relationship is from Taylor being a GA for Sherman and getting to know Turner then.
Turner is a known quantity to Taylor so it makes enormous sense for Taylor to make the offer.
And if Turner does want another crack at the NFL, here is his opening.

This offseason sucks. Mack Brown stole our top recruiter and the second biggest joke NFL team is about to steal our best coach.

We are going to improve at this position, both recruiting and coaching. Turner was the weakest coach on staff, if you want to be honest.

I don't get how you can say he was the weakest coach on the staff. OL recruiting has been good the last couple of years and I thought the OL played decently well this year.
CB coaching/recruiting seemed to be the weakest link the past 12 months

I wouldn't say best coach, but he's up there.
I would say that he hasn't done the same type of work as he did during his Sherman days. It's still good nonetheless.
