So are we thinking he might be in position to be a starter next year?

I agree on the defense, but I don’t think the offense is just the line. We need to upgrade the skill positions. I’m thankful for Ryan Renick but we need a #2 TE (hopefully a healthy Cupp) and some guys to emerge at WR as a deep threat. Whether thats Chapman, Demas, or Jones coming back and being different dude.

Chapman will be back.
Buckley will be back
Demas is getting more playing time these past few weeks, and will have a whole offseason
Don't forget that we still have Moose

But yes, I want Thomas for that reason

With Buckley and Chapman back, that's why I'd rather have another OL (Moko) than a WR for that final spot. If Cupp comes back healthy next year, then I could see us running lots of 2 TE sets. Then you've got somewhere between 10-12 scholarship WR's competing for 2/3 starting WR spots.

Smith, Chapman, and Lane are your likely starters if we go 3 wide. Then we've got depth with Buckley, Jones, Demas along with several other freshman and sophomores.

Meanwhile, the offensive line has some depth issues at OT in the Junior and Sophomore classes. I doubt Moko would start next year, but we need depth at that spot more than at WR imo.

Won’t we have Wydermyer, Cupp and Smith next year? And as for WR I think we’ll be fine, Lane, Chapman, Preston and Demas plus Hez (if he comes back) I think our skill position would be fine.
Edit: plus we’ll have Ainias and Buckley too

Can we count on Chapman to be ready at the beginning of next season?

We counting on Matthews for OT? I thought he was interior. Either way, I wouldn't mind an additional upperclassman option for Henson to work with over the next couple seasons.

A not impossible, but probably more on the optimistic side of things, close of

Johnson
Malone
Gilbert
Thomas
Jeudy

Gets us to 289.95 which would barely beat last year for best A&M class in the modern recruiting era

Average would also be over 92 and would get us 7 top 100 guys and a blue chip ratio of just under 80%

That was all linemen, not just tackles.

I would think so, he tore his acl correct? Acl injuries are “easier” to come back from now than they used to be. Plus he got hurt early in the season, more time till the start of next year.

That's the finish I'm hoping for. That would be phenomenal.

I believe that finish gets us to 294, actually.

It does, and if the top 5 hold how it is we should be #5 overall. Hell of a finish!

I dont know how I fricked that up

But yea just over 294 is the score with 8 top 100 guys, over 75% blue chip ratio, with an average of 92.3

I would guess we'd finish 6th in that scenario considering clemson and OU have so many openings left

We simply do not need another offensive lineman. We do need a good receiver, and some DB help

So its a good thing we arent signing another offensive lineman and are hoping to close to a wide receiver and a safety

I'm talking about Moko. If we don't sign Thomas, then we are going to need the Auburn speedster Dawson. It should be a great class close no matter what.

There are rumors that Bama is still pursuing Thomas as well, which makes no sense with the numbers that they have. Him and Arnold both, whom we need.

Maybe so. I tore my acl when I was at A&M. It took a while to be normal, just thought it might be a while for him to be 100%.
