Gotta figure that right tackle ends up being Jhamir Johnson or Jordan Moko by the time we play our first game. Neither of those guys are on campus yet.

Not that it matters much this early, but we'll jump to the 4th spot in the team rankings when Taylor commits.

Brian Thomas Jr plans to announce tomorrow at 1pm. What are y’all hearing on him?

This staff has strung together 3 straight top 10 classes. Most of them have come with early evals and commits by 3 stars followed by strong closes on our higher rated targets.
If there’s any difference between this 2022 class and others before, it’s that we’re recruiting much stronger early on then we have historically. And there’s no reason to believe they won’t close strong again or perception from a 3-star OL slows this momentum.

Well your other options that aren’t true freshman are Blake Trainor, Chris Morris, and Jordan Moko.

This is huge. I didn't see a sure fire starter at OT this year outside of Kenyon Green. And even he will be acclimating to the new position. Jahmir Johnson gives us a guy who can immediately come in and man one of the OT spots opposite of Green while we redshirt and develop the 2021 class.
Only caveat to that is I think Bryce Foster works his way into the starting lineup by conference play, if not sooner.

Not too sure where to put this, but Derrick Hunter is switching from the DL to OL. The 247 article said he lined up for extra points and field goals this past season.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the concern at WR at all. Yes, we need to continue to recruit high ceiling guys (recent examples of Demas and Banks). But we return 3 guys who were injured last season along with all of our receiving production from a team that went 9-1.
Our two deep at WR and TE should consist of some combination of Ainias Smith, Caleb Chapman, Chase Lane, Cam Buckley, Jalen Preston, Hezekiah Jones, Jalen Wydermyer, and Baylor Cupp. That's a ton of experience and a number of high end players in the mix.
It would be nice to have BTJ. But even without him, we will have 12 scholarship WR's with an offense that typically plays only 3 at a time.

I'm assuming we're on commitment watch today. Donovan Green tweeted "Maaannn today is gonna be [fire emojis]".

Dang! Thought we only had 4 spots left. Did BL mention if there would be any other blueshirts or greyshirts to make it happen?

Ya, I wasn’t too sure about Morris but figured I’d include him until we hear otherwise. The alternative is a true fish filling that spot which isn’t ideal.

Agree. Not sure what the OL will end up looking like next year, but I'm guessing we have a two deep that looks something like this. Thoughts?
1st String
LT - Kenyon Green
LG - Layden Robinson
C - Luke Matthews or Aki Ogunbiyi
RG - Bryce Foster
RT - Wanya Morris
2nd String
LT - Chris Morris
LG - Josh Bankhead
C - Matthews or Ogunbiyi
RG - Smart Chibuzo
RT - Blake Trainor

Absolutely massive. With Moore gone and Carson Green likely joining him, I'm not sure we would have been able to fill out a 2-deep without including a true freshman. I assume Kenyon Green would likely start at LT and Wanya Morris/Blake Trainor would compete for the RT spot. But after that, our depth gets thin really fast.

Yes, he is going to be a senior. What I meant was that he was a junior and would be declaring early if he left for the NFL now. He had a solid season, so who knows...

My guess is that he's coming back since he's a junior. But he hasn't announced one way or the other yet.

9 starters returning for a defense that ranked 9th last year.
