I'd imagine if we lose, even our most level headed posters would melt.

Texas' Defense > our mediocre offense

Texas horrible offense > Our horrendous D.

Right at 70% chance right now IMO.

We have club season tickets for Texans. Our account manager told us that they are all hoping it will be the Ags from the SEC. This means a full stadium.

Awhile back we purchased an 8 seat package for both this years Texas Bowl and the Advocare Kickoff next year.

They would love nothing more than to have Ags in both games. Only better scenario would be Ags vs texass. There are a lot of folks hoping this will happen. Maybe not so many in College Station but almost everywhere else.

I don't want to see those dick faces again yet. Bad enough my phone blows up every time they think we will lose still.

A loss to Texas in a bowl would be the end of the Sumlin era, and our time in the sun. I would go back into mid -00s "basketball school" mode.

You guys are killing me. I know the SECr likes to troll A&M by saying A&M actually fled to the SEC because they were scared of Texas and the whole idea of that is absurd, but you guys are making it difficult right now.

Screw that, play them, beat them, have years of bragging rights.

What's the worse that can happen? They already have the "last game victory" hanging over the Aggies' head. Take it back.

or we told them we would still play them, they told us to frick ourselves. So now we are doing the same. Why do we have to want to play them? I think a lot of people are also disappointed in the possibility of being put into a bowl that's 90 miles from our school

Why does anyone play a rival? To kick their arse.

And that just doesn't matter to a decently sized portion of our fan base. Those in that camp are much more interested in cultivating a rivalry of sorts amongst our new conference mates instead of running back to a school who told us to frick ourselves when we offered to continue the series

It all comes back to recruiting. You have 2 new coaches who recruit heavily in the same area. A loss without the yearly opportunity to extract revenge from UT right now would certainly end Sumlins career. It would also kill our recruiting advantage over UT.

Dont get me wrong, I'm all for playing UT, but it has to be yearly thing. Any Ag or Longhorn that says otherwise is just too damn proud to admit it. (Which is what the rivalry is really all about; pride)

You can try to synthesize a rivalry all you want but it'll just never compare to the natural ones.

I can understand the sourness in which the series ended but I wouldn't be able to stand having that last game and the overall series hang over my head for a lifetime. Especially in the way the fortunes have turned for the programs over the last few years.

Whether you like it or not Ags and Horns will forever meet each other at the water cooler on Mondays and I'd be seeking a win over them ASAP.

I think I used the wrong words. I am infinitely more interested in cultivating our brand as a SEC school. People hardly remember that Arkansas was once a member of the SWC and instead, are viewed as a SEC school. I want us to get there and i don't think we do that by going back and starting a long term series with any big 12 school

the world doesn't revolve around that game. Nothing we can do about a series record that got ran up when we were a glorified division two school

I agree with this. If we get paired with them, whatever let's go beat them, but I will be disappointed if we end up playing our bowl in Houston against a big 12 program

This is why I said "do not want," earlier

If it's them, then as disappointed as I'll be in the bowl circumstance, I'll be excited to kick their burnt orange behinds.
