I never thought Cristobal was all that at Oregon anyways. Lanning I’m not too worried about having a drop off (that could be insane optimism on my part)

If you listen to Bjork, ERob will definitely get a shot at the job. He was impressed with how ERob relates to the players and vice versa, which is why he is the interim. Also excellent recruiter, and Bjork mentioned A&M is looking for its next RC to establish a period of success.

How is Bjork noted fired for giving the extension?

I need to go re-listen to Ross’ press conference from yesterday but if I remember correctly he made a comment about what he learned from that or what he’d do different. I forget how the question was worded I’m sorry. But I don’t really put all the blame on Ross. I genuinely believe LSU was coming after Jimbo hard and he /his agent leveraged the situation perfectly to get that big contract. Hindsight being what it is yeah Ross and the powers that be should’ve never done it. But I really think context matters when you look at that contract extension and I feel like maybe Ross’ hands were tied a little on that one.

I would be beyond shocked if ERob got the job. I like him, I’m not even against him getting it tbh, although he’s not in my top 5 I’m willing to give whoever the new guy is a legit shot. But give him 3 years with a program friendly contract and let’s see. That being said, I highly highly doubt he gets it. I think he’s interim solely cause Ross knows the players love him and I think Ross expects that move to maybe help hold some pieces at A&M while they make the transition

Agreed. Odds we are looking for a new AD as a package deal?

It was a mistake now, but at the moment his options are 1. Do nothing and Lsu likely takes him. 2. Give him money to stay and not restart this whole process again. I think at the time everyone thought Jimbo was doing a good job. Ranked 2/3 seasons. Top 5 finish. There was no reason to believe he'd go 19-15.

It’s definitely a hindsight 20/20 thing. We were coming off a #4 finish the year before, looked like Jimbo was building the program into a regular contender and LSU now lead by Woodward was looking. Remember that Bjork is more of a puppet when it comes to football decisions and is told what to do more so by the big money donors.

What I thought was interesting is listening to the Loochadoor show on Sunday with Texags radio, Liucci said he didn’t think Sexton demanded the 9.5 and fully guaranteed extension back to 10 years. Was just more of a “we need to up his compensation or otherwise lsu may steal him”. If he’s right and those terms weren’t demanded by the agent, somebody at A&M is a fool. What should’ve happened was just bump him to 9ish and keep his current contract where it was. He’d have 4 years of the contract remaining at this point and 36 mil is a lot less than 77. Why go further than necessary? Maybe Sharp’s comment “we signed him to 10 because we couldn’t get 15” was a true statement. We need to get rid of Sharp at some point….

Making him interim was definitely the first step toward trying to retain him. Whoever we hire will want to (and if not you should be questioning why you hired them). I could see him getting the full DC title especially if it’s a defensive guy that we hire who will be calling plays himself

I think this team comes out and crushes the next couple of weeks under ERob. If that happens, it isn't as far-fetched as people believe.

ERob would be the surest path to keeping the roster intact that’s for certain, which is also why he was named the interim. If you paired him with a big time OC hire I don’t think it’s that crazy, and he’s going to get big head coaching looks this year and in the future. It’s also easy to see us hiring Elko and him keeping Elijah on as the lone DC since there’s relationship there already. Either way he earned this opportunity and maybe we come out playing loose the next few weeks

I understood it differently. To me, saying "everyone" was the polite way of saying "no".

How do we feel about our offense this year? Solid. Not great. With the shitty OL and QB injuries, I don't think Bobby is doing a poor job.

Let’s see how we look against LSU with the shackles removed but I think we can do better than Petrino

It’s a crime Addazio gets to hang around another few weeks

Yes and no.

He is good enough to beat most SEC teams. But keep in mind that in his career, he has never scored more than 21 points against Alabama. That's just not going to cut it. Nick has his offenses figured out.

I think that’s reasonable, show us you can beat the ever living crap out of LSU and hang 45+ points on them and you get to stay around
