Let’s have some productive discussion, Auburn and LSU, what needs to change to win these?

1. Better pass defense
a. who’s out with injury?
b. Who might we get back soon?
c. Would blitzing more help?

2. Pass completion percentage
a. Who needs more passes thrown their way?
b. Who needs less?

Our pass defense is what it is at this point in the year, not much can be done.

Receivers need to play like they did against Clemson. I would like to see Preston get some reps since we’ve burned his shirt anyway.

Trouble is that the Clemson game included some extremely lucky catches

What needs to change? Pretty much the same things we’ve been talking about and noticing since Arkansas, it just finally caught up to us in a game now.

1) Mond. Decisions, taking too much time, etc. I know his completion percentage is up this year, but I’m starting to think a lot of that is just all the short routes he throws. We need a deep pass threat, we almost never throw the ball in the air more than 15 yards. Can’t believe we missed the opportunity to Rodgers. Basically we need fisher to prove he’s a “QB whisperer” and keep developing Mond, but I doubt we see much better this season. Also want to add that while our O-line isn’t great, Mond has had plenty of time to throw for the most part and still messes up, I don’t blame them that much for our offensive problems.

2) Pass defense. I’m not gonna sugar coat it, pretty much the entire DB group sucks. Even Donovan isn’t the best at pass coverage, but he is a great run stopper and open field tackler. Both corners we are starting just aren’t getting it done. Again, not much can be done this season, it is what it is at this point. Maybe some redshirt or other person on the depth chart or a 2019 recruit can come in and help us at all DB positions.

3) Receivers don’t get separation as much and in general nobody steps up to play. What can be done this season? I guess Rodgers can decide to have a game like Clemson or Davis against USCe, but don’t know if it’s just coaching or what. WR was the one thing Sumlin could recruit so I refuse to believe we don’t have some talent in our two deep at that position between all the 4 and 5 stars we recruited at it.

The TL:DR is it’s QB, WR, & DB. Same three issues we’ve noticed since early on in the season. And red zone efficiency, but I feel like that is tied to 1 & 3.

The glaring weakness on the team is DB. I think everyone would agree with that. We are also below average at OL and WR.

Outside that Mond is OK, not really good or bad. RBs are probably above average, it's hard to tell though when they're not getting a lot of room to run.

DL is obviously the strength of this team, although we don't generate a lot of pass rush. LBers are pretty solid, I would say above average.

Offense: Will only be as good as Mond is playing any given Saturday. Maybe more quick passes to avoid/limit pressure on Mond.

Defense: Max blitz, but don't hit QB in the head! (If do, make the penalty worth it) Ags have nothing to lose at this point. DBs can't cover, so must give QB less time in pocket.

More success in the run game would greatly help our pass game.

MSU had a stout run defense - but their secondary was good enough to keep us at bay as well.

We've been able to have one or the other in our recent close wins but not this time.

Our run game isn't going to have more success until Mond hits some passes past 10 yards to loosen up the defense. Teams are not currently worried about being beaten over the top by him.

Moo was able to bring pressure nearly every single play b/c they were not worried about Mond finding the hot routes or beating them over the top.

Our pass defense

This. This. This.

Offense has been serviceable. Outside of this weekend, I've been satisfied. The great thing about this is that it's only going to get better as Jimbo gets more of his players.

I feel like our team is limited right now like the Cowboys are. If the QB is hot and performing better than normal we are good. If the receivers are performing better than normal they can make up for some of the QB short coming. But if they are all playing to average then we are in for a very tight game with the high probability of not getting it done.

eta: I am still very bullish on this team. They have exceeded my expectations with their fight and buy in to the system. I am hoping the coming classes can build on it.

I really believe if Kirk was still here we win that game.

This team really lacks elite talent like that.

I expected to see Mond running the ball more this year, and I still want to see that. As we’ve seen a few times in the past two seasons, he has the ability to crease a defense. We are so limited in terms of explosive plays — but he has that ability with his feet.

We have to finish drives. I don't know how many got stopped in the red zone, but we had one missed field goal, 2 made field goals, and a 1st and goal that turned into a 3rd and goal from around the 25, which made us have a 4th and goal from the 10 and led to end zone pick.

He would help a little but he actually did much better with Starkel tossing the ball than Mond.

As long as Mond is not a deep threat it won't really matter who the WRs are.

Can't recall ever seeing offensive line play improving much after 3 or 4 games into a season. Obvious shortcomings in this area that are causing a variety of issues on offense. These issues bleed over because the D is on the field too long.

This is the wrong league to have offensive line problems in.

First drive of the game and we once again fail to finish in red zone because of bad decision making.

First SEC game in which we’ve scored more than two offensive td’s.

Need a new quarterback. We won't win another game with Mond.

If that fat piece of shite chin pubes can't see it, he needs to go as well. His fricking fecal touch is one of the reasons we've sucked since he took over in 2007.
