Dox doesn’t have his best stuff but he’s battling and getting the job done.

That fact we got 3 runs off of Burns is a good sign for the offense. He had a 1.76 ERA heading into the day.

We beat the #8 RPI team last night (they fell to 16) and somehow we dropped to #11 (from 9). The margins must be razor thin between the top teams.

We dropped to 17 after the Texas State loss so we moved up 6 spots with the win.

And Auburn also lost midweek (to Jax State) so they were 16 going into last night so the loss didn't move them.

deleted stupid WN vs Boyd's rant due to user error

I was looking at ISR on Boyd's. You have to click 94 buttons to get to the damn RPI these days. They actually have Auburn at 14.

I was just basing on WN Live. Regardless, we’ve jumped a little up and down lately. It should still go up beating Auburn. That Vandy win still looks awesome. They’re crushing the pigs.

We’ve looked solid today. Hopefully our bullpen can close the deal, but I’m not sure 4 will be enough. I’d like 1-2 more for insurance.

Over 18k at the ballpark this weekend. I’ve been saying this for years but we really need to expand actual seating. Sell some more season tix down the line. Add in more general admission in the OF. We could hit 9-10k for big games.

We def could. I look at MSU's reno and I'm super jelly. But we've invested pretty damn heavily in facilities over the last few years in other sports so it's hard to complain too much.

I'd think another Olsen renovation will happen in the next few years just because it seems to be the way SEC baseball is trending and there are no longer other sports with a glaring need.

It would be awesome to update the facade in order to match Kyle Field.

The bare minimum would be 7-8 and try to sneak into the 16 seed, but it would be close. I think 9-6 and we’d be a lead pipe lock. We also need to try and not drop any more on Tuesdays.

I think a lot is going to depend on just how many hosts the SEC can have.

As of tonight 7 of the top 16 (hosts) in RPI are in the SEC. Auburn is 17 as well. At 12, we're the lowest rated of those 7.

They won't want to say it, but I think our chances of hosting are higher because Tech appears to be the only other Texas school currently in the mix. It will be easy to fill our regional by bus.

Boyd's needs report is finally out

linky

It appears to be from Sat morning based on game counts. Assuming 3 OOC wins:

- 8-7 to finish TOP 8
- 6-9 to finish top 16

The SECW is going to continue to beat up on each other. If we’re going to finish 17-12-1 then, at worst, we finish 5th in the SEC. I think there will be 5 SEC hosts. Our RPI will likely be top 12ish and higher than top 5 in the conference.

Up to #7. I don’t believe we’re that good, but it’s always nice to be highly ranked.
