and I find myself less and less inclined to watch crap coaches like Childress

Part of the problem is you think a coach who has been very, very good is crap. Crap is having multiple losing seasons in a row. Crap is feasting on awful non conference teams and getting crushed in conference play. Crap is never ever even having the chance to get hot once the payoffs roll around.

I hope I'm wrong, and Childress exceeds expectations next year. But I doubt it

Only one team wins it all each year so it's a pretty good bet for any fan of any team to assume they will be disappointed in the end.

Football at least has bowl games that can let you end the year on a positive note. Baseball, basketball, whatever else... it's win it all or nothing.

2013: 17-9 nonconference, 13-16 conference (30-23 going into Hoover)
2014: 20-6 nonconference, 14-16 conference (34-22 going into Hoover)
2015: 25-0 nonconference, 18-10 conference (43-10 going into Hoover)
2016: 21-3 nonconference, 20-10 conference (41-13 going into Hoover)
2017: 20-6 nonconference, 16-14 conference (36-20 going into Hoover)
2018: 23-2 nonconference, 13-17 conference (36-19 going into Hoover)
2019: 20-6 nonconference, 16-13-1 conference (36-19-1 going into Hoover)

To summarize, as a member of the SEC, A&M is:

146-32 in nonconference, 110-96-1 in conference

"Crap" was hyperbole, but they simply HAVE to get better at hitting. It's a wonder they did as well as they did with the team BA being 13th in the SEC. You cannot put that much pressure on the pitching staff and expect to be successful.

Having a winning record in what is arguably the best baseball conference in the country is not getting crushed in conference play.

No disagreement there.

I just don't think it's very useful to be hyperbolic when assessing a coach's performance.

I really, really hope that NE is serious about hiring either Bolt, or even better Childress. Problem solved

I just want to say that this Michigan team is a prime example of why freaking out that RC's teams haven't won a ton in the postseason is silly.

This is Erik Bakich's 10th year as a head coach. He has made the post season just 3 times and is now in position to win it all.

Even if Michigan goes on to win it all IMO it would be ridiculous to say they have a better coach than a majority of the teams in the SEC and ACC. They just got hot at the right time. No more, no less.

Sooner or later this will happen for us.

Until then... that's just the way baseball go.

What D_. _C fails to understand is that, in the Big Ten, which is a horrible baseball conference, a C_iLd_Ess-type performance is acceptable.

What you fail to understand is that a dude who ain't all that good is in line to win it all b/c the postseason is a crap shoot.

Get there and you have a chance. Period.

But keep on overreacting about all things Aggy. Odds are it'll only be a couple more years until you completely turn on Jimbo too.

Shew is the first player from this year’s draft class to get called up to double A. If he keeps it up he may just make the opening 2021 roster for ATL. We need more Aggies in the bigs, especially position players.
