This is the basis of your argument. Guess what? So was Kevin Sumlin.

Not sure what your point is here, but BK has had more success than Sumlin did at A&M by a country mile, and that’s without factoring in a resources adjustment.

I'll admit that the two things that piss me off the most about Billy Kennedy's tenure have almost nothing to do with Kennedy at all.

1. The CBI absurdity by Eric Hyman in 2014. At the beginning of the season, Hyman was quoting as saying that Kennedy had to make the postseason OR ELSE. For Hyman to then BUY HIS WAY into the CBI after Kennedy didn't make the NCAA Tournament or NIT so he could keep his pristine track record of not hiring or firing a single coach intact was atrocious.

2. The ridiculous extension and buyout in 2016. I understand the extension during that season, a season we won the SEC in. However, the buyout makes it extremely difficult to fire him. No school is going to poach Kennedy even if he has a Wooden-like run due to his health concerns, so to make it more difficult for the school to make a change is cronyism at its most horrid.

All of my talk about epic failures of seasons is a wish for retribution upon those who made those horrible choices, forcing them to own and correct those mistakes.

I'd also like to add that I am sick of the paradigm that you are a "Bad Aggie" if you criticize the coaching staff.

So BKs 2 runs to the sweet 16, you can't really credit him for the first one. We won in the 2nd round by miracle. Not by coaching. BK does not deserve a ton of praise for our players clutching that win. I'll give him some praise for NC last season, but that doesn't make him a great coach.

With the talent we had, our team should have gone deeper in 2018.

Like he said, based on the talent on the team. You know that team did not perform to expectations.

BCG took teams with little talent and exceeded expectations.

BK takes team with talent and misses expectations.

How talented was the team?

BK has had better results?

Very

If that were true, we wouldn't be having this conversation. If results are measured based on performance versus expected performance given roster talent, opponent, etc, then no, BK has not had better results, which is exactly the point others were making.

Yes, but let's also not discount an absolute freakshow of a performance by Michigan in 2018.

By what measure besides NCAAT results or conference championships are you using?

This is exactly the conversation every Aggy basketball thread turns into. Yeah BK has led us to more basketball success than any other A&M basketball coach, BUT.....

At least I made my very specific objections clear.

I really have nothing to say about the game tonight that the commentators didn't already say.

When the commentators say that A&M's defense is putting up no resistance to Auburn, you are having major issues.

Ugly first half.

I love the RC/pat vs CGSC threads every fricking year. Only thing that gets me through the offseasons.

I am a fan of Billy, but I think this is probably his last year.

Does anyone know if we would have any chance at all at convincing Chris Beard at Tech to come to A&M? I doubt it, but that dude can coach basketball.

I have zero confidence in the decision makers letting Kennedy go this year.

If they did, I would go after Musselman at Nevada. After all, the last coach we had who coached there turned out far better than we expected. (A guy named GILLISPIE)

You have zero confidence in Billy. You have zero confidence in the admin. You just generally think everybody but you is stupid, huh?

No, but even I know better than to give a contract extension with two weeks left to go in the season IN THE MIDDLE OF A 5 GAME LOSING STREAK plus a guaranteed buyout that handcuffs my organization later for a coach that no one was going to poach.

BCG didn't coach at Nevada. He was at utep prior to us hiring him.

Nevermind, misread his bio. Musselman would still be my target.
