Serious question: Is Shewmake the best player we've had in forever? I couldn't watch much A&M baseball before the SEC move, but he has to be up there.

Well we did have the SEC player of the year last year who batted just under .400. Boomer isn't as naturally gifted, but he had nothing but results.
There is a current Indian who was a former Big 12 POY and first round draft pick in Tyler Naquin. He had back to back years hitting .380.
Brodie Green had 179 total bases in 2010. For comparison, Boomer had 134 last year. Greene never got the love, but his OPS was 1.135 that year.
That is just looking back a few years. We've had some great college players. Shew is just another guy in a long line. The difference is he's doing it from day 1 of freshman year. That's makes him a little more unique. He's also more of a pro prospect than some of our guys with his size natural talent.
