What was he supposed to do? Coach the playoffs and stay with the team until they are eliminated then announce the LSU deal.

But he is scum and can’t do the right thing.

He built up Ole Miss year-by-year and that team last year was capable of winning it all. I just don’t understand how you leave that during a playoff run.

I have a lot more respect for people that stay and build a program instead of jumping to an “easier” place.

Lane is just a whore.

Always has been. Always will be.

How about not quit on the players and the school in the middle of a playoff run. Its really not difficult for anyone with a brain. But its okay, when he leaves LSU for the Bama job in a year or two im sure you won't have any complaints.

But then he would've had to stay at Ole Miss.

I have bad news for you about Mike Elko.

Ole Miss wouldn't let him coach the playoff without signing his extension. This was all well documented here at the time.

I'm unaware of any coach at any level flirting with other teams and then leaving for another team in the middle of a possible NC run.

Saban wouldn't even talk to Alabama before the dolphins season was over. Alabama waited all that time just for the chance he might be the coach.

And even then that was only because we almost fricked up, but got turned down by Rich Rod.

This idea that one extra month is worth so much is really short sighted.

You’re such a crying arse bitch. You speak like a person who hasn’t had much success or many offers in life.

Well, Jon Sumrall also did it last year but Tulane didn't spend a year weeping like the OM pussies. (He took players with him, too. Not sure about staff.)

Good point. As a fan of Ole Miss, I hated seeing him leave, especially for a rival. I don’t blame fans for being mad just because we are fans of Ole Miss, not LSU so we obviously don’t like being ditched. However, it’s his choice to make and it doesn’t affect my life in any way

I answered the question the OP asked, and I answered your question.

You are the one crying because you don't like my response.

I care about principles and morals. Get some or get over it.

Or he could have just stepped aside and wished everyone the best instead of demanding the entire offensive staff be on the plane.

Pretty simple really.

As did Bob Chesney.

I think LSU would've waited on Kiffin to finish his playoff run, Kiffin obviously wanted to coach the playoff, it seems like Ole Miss was the one who pushed Kiffin to make a decision.

That would line up with the reports from The Athletic that Ole Miss issued Kiffin an ultimatum to make a decision before the playoff started.

After years of hearing LsU fans whine about Saban going to Alabama the 180 they’ve done on this is funny.

It was Ole Miss that fricked up for not letting him coach through the playoffs.

They beat a team that lane lost to during the season. This is a dumb take. Then you just let him douche it up in your building for a month after he screwed Ole Miss? Just let him recruit kids Ole Miss wanted him to keep?

Any top program would have done the same exact thing especially when he left for their biggest rival.

Golding beating Georgia mind fricked Kiffin. He texted the guy who runs the grove collective that Ole Miss was gonna get its arse beat versus Georgia and they won. It humiliated him.
